Tickets $25- plus booking fee go on sale Oct 1st from Ticketmaster and selected sounds record stores.

Please note that this is an Under 18 event and therefore no alcohol or party pills will be allowed on the premise.

I'm both shocked and offended that you associate me with top 40!! However... We're going to be playing predominately House music. Both Stu and Ben (gainze) will play mostly the commercial type, the remixes and the like you here on ZM. I'll be playing a little darder but still happy and vocal... with a little bit of breaks... Not the dirty stuff I normally play. James will close with pretty much free license. He normally plays Electro and Breaks.

Not an all ages gig!! 13-18yrs old only... We don't want under age people mixing with those old enough to drink.

We want to provide a good clean dance party vibe... A chance to enjoy music and friends without the munters. Yes i'm aware that under 18's can get things but we're trying to provide as safe an environment as possible. We want parents to feel safe about theit 15yr old daughter going to a dance party... I wouldn't be happy letting my daughter go to a dance party if there were going to be 20yr old plus drinkers sniffing around.
That's why the price is high... We're offering a top venue/ experience with added security to look after patrons not intimidate.

No we're not descriminating based on age... we're simply putting conditions on entry.

Sorry about the misunderstanding about laggered... We're not trying to make a laggered like party, i was just qualifying our lighting and sound crew.... Although Laggered party atmosphere's we're something to want to copy.... However that's not the music genre ppl wanna here at the mo.

This is one of the most disgusting statements I have ever seen on a Dance music site.

To imply that I am not allowed to go out to a party because I am too old is one thing, but to say:

"Because you're old & you go to dance parties so you must do drugs so we won't let you in"

Is a gross generalisation & as Cheet wrote, discrimination. How is it that parties like YBR, Spectrum & Urban can pull off an ALL AGE crowd without munters on their modest budgets, yet ZM with it's seemingly UNLIMITED funds, can't manage the same? Why the blanket ban, as opposed to doing things properly (DECENT SECURITY)?

I hope you aren't talking for ZM on this venture mate, cos from a legal standpoint, you're in the wrong.

Ares... I am not going out of my way to deliberately exclude or desciminate... Just trying to provide a safe and enjoyable option to people between the ages of 13-18 who love dance music and want somewhere to party.
FYI My promotional company is resposible/ accountable for this concept... Not ZM. They're kindly on board because they also see this as a good thing.

Why the need to go to other forums and Dis?? You do your thing and we'll do ours...
As for the line up... Stu is an accomplished radio dj and has the presence, personality and sounds... Not a club dj as such... As for Gainze he also works in promo for ZM and is a huuuge music fan... Does his own remixes/edits etc. James is also in the radio biz in the form of Eccentric FM out here in the East... It's not about big names It's about playing what the people want to here. Big names generally come with there own sound and anyway... Most of the people wouldn't of heard of them anyway.. Being under 18 and all.

The price is what it is because of the whole package... We're limiting numbers to stop overcrowding, beefing up security, and going all out on sound and lighting.
I like to think we've got the right mix and our intensions are good so we'll see what happens...

Man, chill out. From a parents perspective (which i am qualified to give) sounds like the sort of event i would be comfortable dropping my under 18 yo kids off at. There is no doubt once the age group ticks into 19/20 etc the environment will change into something I would be less comfortable dropping a 15yo off to. Go hard KP great initiative. Funny thing, some people just can't help knock someone who looks like there on to a good thing.

I have a lot of respect for what you are doing and I think it is a good idea for the age restrictions (keeping in mind other readers, that promoters maintain the right to refse entry).

I'd be a bit screwed considering I am over 18 and my girlfriend isn't however I don't see a problem. I would be surprised if situations such as this would seriously effect your numbers.

I think it is a great idea having a big party, get a few people along and introduce them to a few different music genres.

this is rat shit, i agree with what Adam has said. What about those who are big supporters and promoters of the all age scene and like going along because they too like the no munters and drunk tards environment, I mean there is a limited number of r18 people that would attend an all age gig, Look at gigs like YBR, Spectrum, Juiced, Funked etc etc all those gigs in the all age market they dont have 20 year old drunk men wondering around.

People over 18 have all the other parties/ clubs to go to. This is an opportunity for those 18 and under to go to with only people under 18.

Like others have said, this is a new concept which we believe is a good one for all.

In the last 2 months there have been over 12 all age gigs. (including concerts). Thats nearly 2 a weekend.

Ours are exclusively for those 18 and under for the reasons explained above...

At the end of the day we're all giveing the under age people choices / options of good quality dance music events, and that can only be a good thing. The bigger an industry we become the more pulling power collectively we'll have... Esp if peer pressure has somethin to do with it. Maybe we can make a dent in the indie rock and pop peeps attendances...

Kevin great idea and all the best for the party.. there is huge potential in the ZM market, however just a word of constructive criticism, your price may be too high, maybe $20 or under. You should look at the discretionary spending of the underage market and price accordingly, the ZM market wont hold the level of production in as high regards as many of us big kids do

S-Driver as much as I love your work and enthusiasm for the scene your comments on the other board make you come across as having “green eyes” , which I know is not the case with you.

It looks like there is a really healthy underage scene in Auckland these days, you should all be thankful and supportive, back in the early days (I got into dance music at 13) we only had one party every three or so months.

but just curious why cant you just put an alcohol and drug ban on this event like all other all age events. and if 18+'s turn up drunk, you simply refuse entry... personally i think you will have more trouble with underager munters than 18+'s because the 18+'s that are there, are there for suppor and the scene..

I know I’m a little disappointed.

As a Dj who predominately plays at all age events, and has been supporting the all ages scene since I started clubbing (Over 6 Years ago), I find that it’s always good to show my face at these kinds of things. It’s also pretty good for networking and getting to know new promoters.

Guess I'll just have to miss out this time.

Just because we (those wh have posted here) have stated we have BIG problems with your proposed over 18's are out policy, doesn't mean we're wrong. YBR, EPL & the Viper clubs crews all manage to pull off a safe environment for the ALL AGE massive. My partner & I, like Darkmain, DJParanoid & others, love all age events cos the crowds are more amped, we don't have people gurning & sweating all over us whilst we try to enjoy the atmosphere & music. As Darkmain said, it's a good chance for established DJ's like the two of us, to meet the people running the show & talk about future events...

But hey, we wouldn't see you there; you won't be mingling with the crowd now will you, cos you're over 18, right...

However, I wouldn't be mingling with the crowd at all ages events as i'm now 37 yrs old and feel old at times at Code nightclub...
I have a 10 yr old daughter and 6 yr old son so I'm thinking from a parental point of view... Creating an environment that make parents as well as u18's happy. No exclusion or descrimination was the motivation, just something a little safer and different to add yet another option for u18yr olds.
Like I said before, you guys that are over 18 can go to every other party you want to, you're spoilt for choice. As much as I'd like to keep everyone happy you Ares as a deejay should know its impossible to keep everyone happy all of the time...

there was a point in the spectrum zone @ suburban when I was the only one making noise, the only one trying to get the crowd cranking. Gigs' need people who really love the music, who support the scene with heart to kick the atmosphere to the roof
