How did you first find out about/hear your preferred style of music?

Like, i first was introduced to trance when I bought one of the lagered CD's yonks ago and only knew that was trance cos it said so on the cd

I can't remember, i think i was at BDO '01 and i got stuck in the boiler room, i was enjoying myself so much! my friends tried to drag me outta there.... decided to find out more!!

well i think it was sumtime in 2000 when i was 13 or 14 and i heard darude - sandstorm, that just made me stop and think fuk this is my sorta music, and well it just progressed from there

For me it was Robert Miles - Children and that Your not alone song..can't remember but that was ages ago!!! dats when i really appreciated "the" music and realised that there was something better and could really get into!

i even used to listen to gatecrasher. what happened to that.

I have no idea......used to listen to Happy Hardcore about 9 yrs ago and it has carried on from there....

my friend and i used to listen to house music on tapes and we hooked up two seperate systems and did mixes, that was 4 or 5 years ago....... it was a going to the gathering thing for that did it for us......oh the joys of being bought up in nelson, they are so few but so special.......

so i downloaded all these GD tracks,, and i was hooked

I dunno how I found out about it, I think it was through an ad for lagered on TV.

children,now that track brings back memories,

dj horn mix tape, and a mates older brothers friends whowere djs(which meant lots of tapes of diff styles), and which instagated my unnatural obession with Tinrib Recordings.

i first got into dance music thru a (now a house dj) friend's happy hardcore mixtapes, but it wasnt till GC Discotech that i knew i loved the music, the ad for it changed my life.

Gatecrasher was wicked on friday, insane!

GC cds went way down hill after discotech.

back in the earlier days, 3rd,4th and 5th i was purely into punk music and i was one of those dudes who would take the piss out of any sorta dance genre. i remember my mate had lagered 2000 and i was hasslin him about it.
the transfer came in mid 6th form from just drivign around in my mates car, he would always bust out lagered-6th pack. "i feel love" and "house of pain" and the music just slowly grabbed me and said, u like this shit man! haha. and at one of my mates party we just kept playing the launch and sash.

A CD Dj mate whos younger bro told me to come to an all ages brain with them in 99 i think, was an avid happy hardcore follower after that for awhile, then discovered my belovered all time favourite trance, learning so much about it everyday!

tru circus...bought that and thought it was wicked but then i discoverd breaqz/2step/quailty DnB and gave up on trance etc

now trance ppl are just followers...
o, and GC ads are shite.

i just love music.

I think there is perfect music for every occasion, to restrict urself to one type whether it be the differences in dance genre's or plain restricting yourself to dance music only is silly!

I think I am in the same boat as Star. I got into happy hardcore years ago, then progressed from there into other genres. I do however appreciate many different forms of music. In particular, industrial type rock.

I used to listen to old kaos & brain techno shows when i was at school. fascination grew from there. used to go to BPM (when sam worked there) and Quaff & phat Wax Records any buy up Mixtapes and CD's such as Bonkers etc. I was big on Happy Hardcore.. at the same time i used to import a lot of cd's from overseas with all the big uk & european hits. soon we had max tv and used to watch the Pulse and learnt more n more about it. Kept collecting mixtapes from various different years, i learnt whereabouts the music came from to understand how it ended up to be the way it is today. I was massive on hip hop too. I used to make compilation tapes for friends when i was at school as I was also buying the music (long before the internet was around). love for music grew n grew. these days i like most styles of music.

Gatecrasher got me into dance music (unless you include Fatboy or Chemical Beats, Prodigy, etc...) BUT a little dude called Circus intorduced me to Happy Hardcore, and the wonders of dnb that now rule my life was thanks to the man like Bryan Gee at Summer Soulstice 2000.
