well the fairy tale all most ended in glory, but a bloody good effort from a virtual second string team....

31-28, a few unlucky chances went a stray.

England still have a wee way to go, to have a chance of winning next years world cup.

And on an even brighter note, Ireland beat Australia 18-9 in Dublin, by beating the aussies at there own game, being patience, not making mistakes, & punishing penalty opportunity's......

Aussie looked very very average, the AB's played the most attacking rugby this weekend for sure!

Ireland beat Aussie??? Best news Ive heard all weekend Smile

France beat south africa as well!

Looks like the Northern Hemisphere teams are catching up with us :/

D-man
they are probley alot fresher than the southern hem
teams, they are just starting there season, where as NZ, SA, & aus are coming to the end of a long season.

Yet aussie doesn't really have an excuse, NZ & SA have just finished a tough NPC & currie cup, the aussies have just been chilling on the beach smoking weed, based on there performance this morning.

LOL, good point I guess Fitzy. Player burnout is becoming a serious issue eh

Australia losing to Ireland took some of the harshness away from from our loss-What an upset.
I thought the AB's played well and it was a bloody good game of rugby. Some great fresh new talent including Williams who conquered the line-outs. Good to see Jonah back to his best form, he added the impact when it was needed. Perhaps our goalkicking lost us the game missing two penalty's worth 6 points. We did everything but win.

I assume Spencer did the kicking?
[quote]
You assume wronly...

Blaire and Merths did the goal kicking... Besides losing the game, I don't think Mitchell can be too displeased.
[quote]
ok, what positions were Blaire and Merthens at then?
*assumes Spencer was at first five eight*
[quote]
I'll answer that question, with another.

What positions do Blaire and Merths usually play at?

(*Carlos was subbed after the 1st half)
[quote]
ahhh ok Shaolin. I assumed from your first post that Merts and Blaire played for the full 80 mins

Very Happy

Soz mate, being a bit coy with my replies... I blame the after-effects of the weekend Razz

If you can, try 'n track down a tape of the game, cause it was a pretty good game by all acounts.

Might go and watch the highlights on the news now Very Happy

Was a good game, pity the AB's lost tho, i reckon they could of had it in the last 5 mins. Top effort by the England side, hopefully the AB's bounce back from that one.

As losses go, that one was not too upsetting. If thats the best england can do at home against a second string all black side playing their first match on tour (a number of layers haven't played for a month) then they aren't as good as they like to make put. Great to see Lomu back in form, his best game for at least a year.

The English didnt win, the Blacks lost it.
you could even see the relief in the faces after..

Losing to England sucks big time. Too much praise for the All Blacks despite losing. At least Australia lost too Razz
