Friday 16 Novemeber @ Phoenix! This is gonna go off bigtime. Hope to see some Welly Biggies there going nuts on the dancefloor!
[quote]
Hell yes....this guy is meant to be crazy behind the decks, dishing out some screaming Hard Trance/House..... definatly keen for that one.
[quote]
He is man, this cat rocks the decks, his stuffs real techy too. He even contributed sounds and design to the roland 505. He revs the crowd up sumthin chronic. I'll be there Smile
[quote]
im thinking of making a trip down round then., Whats the cost of a ticket?
[quote]
Does anyone know if Yoji will be making an appearance in Auckland?
[quote]
Despite having a date available, no suitable venue could be found so no gig.
He will probably spend anight in AK so maybe a surprise.
[quote]
Despite having a date available, no suitable venue could be found so no gig.
He will probably spend anight in AK so maybe a surprise.
[quote]
In a town with more venues than the rest of the country put together?

Okay, fair enough that you can instantly rule out a few that will already be booked, but apart from that I could suggest FU as being the closest AK venue to Studio9 in Welly, but I suppose if you take into account the hard trance description above, then that kind indicates K-Road, so what about Bed or the Staircase? What about Galatos even? Any keen Ak promoters/venues wanna take up the challenge?
[quote]
Bed is booked solid til the end of the year with Pumpin in Bed. Jones declined it.
Its only two errks away so ...
You should let the venues know that you're gutted, and we'll have him back again.
[quote]
errks=weeks!
[quote]
Bed would probably be the best option. Perhaps
he could do Leighton's set as, all going to plan,
he will pumpin' in Church that night.
[quote]
why would bed be the best option?

not even cloe to the style of music that biomekanica plays

bed = trance in fluffiest form

biomekanica = trance in its hardest form
[quote]
OB1 has championed Yoji's cause for years now, and despite significant effort and lobbying there just wasn't an opening for this to happen. Christchurch and Wellington audiences and promotors are more accepting of artists that step outside of the
square. Auckland is a very mainstream dominated scene.Yoji prefers big parties, and his fee reflects that. He's already doing Thursday and Friday gigs and The economics just don't stack

[quote]
well it's too late for Auckland now anyway... At
least I will be seeing him at Unity. Should
definitely be worth the trip down.
Tyrant, fair comment about Bed = Fluffy trance!
[quote]
Sir Trance: I am very, very keen. I heard similar great things about him from a few mates. The cover's $25 right? AndyB and Pooley are support too I see... excellent.

Were you at Fahrenhite last week after all SirTrancealot? It was my first encounter with the Phoenix (I'm a rekative dance scene newbie I suppose) and I loved it. I'm totally hanging out for an excuse to return. Does anyone know what's on at Phoenix this weekend?
[quote]
You AK guys get enuff of the big names anyways, And WGTN CHCH miss out so nows your turn!
[quote]
Yip I think tickets are $25 (not on sale yet) OB1, AndyB among others. Yoji's gonna tear shit up on those decks.

Glad to see you enjoyed your first phoenix experience, hope many more are to come for yaSmile

Yip I was at phoenix chargin round with blue sunnies, white and yellow singlet, camelbak etc etc.
[quote]
That was you? Haha, wooo! I don't remember precisely, but I do remember a dude with the Camelbak, and thought it was a goddam good idea. If my HydaPak wasn't coated on mud from mountainbiking I'd take mine. Razz

I was the short, thin guy with the insane-dance-style down the bottom, right below the decks with the slightly flared grey/cream pants and the silly silky black shirt. Red/black hair, spiked. Going insane, having a good time, eating chupa chups, getting told by some by some dodgy guy with no shirt that he didn't like my dance style. *laughs*
[quote]
So any word on this weekend just coming up? Anything on at Phoenix? I'm not in town during the week at the moment, so haven't scored any flyers, and can't find anything online.
[quote]
how fucking sad welly is, cant even find a venue so they just go to auck, fuck wellington is useless
[quote]
Err....? Yoji's coming here, not Auck. Wasn't that what we were talking about? Which kicks serious ass - go Wgtn! *big grin*

I'll be there I reckon. (Although there is some other good shit on that weekend... *thinks*)
[quote]
nah didnt they just say hes not coming cos they couldnt find a venue?
[quote]

[quote]

[quote]
God damn playstation eating up my precious internet time! I've just noticed this thread!

Yeah, Yoji on the 25th. I'm there, twice, with bells on and a flashing neon light. Sooooooo looking foward to this one, getting excited about it already. Kryptos dude, he's playing Wgtn, not Auckland. But you're right, we do suck. Thanks for putting me in my place Smile

Speaking of Auckland, I'm up there Friday the 30th. Hmm this is so dammed important I think I'll start a new thread =)

Twisted sounds good reactivate. Looking for somthing to do this weekend now that breakz of dawn is, well, broken.
[quote]
Yoji is my god. I will definatly going. Whoever said tickets wern't onsale was lying the are. get one....NOW!!!!!!

Sounds like a big contingent of the biggie/welli crew will be there maybe we should meet. Any one????
[quote]
yeah ill be keen how much r the tickets?
[quote]
Yup, yup. Meeting @ Yoji sounds good. We might even be graced by the presence of the almighty transtemporal of Auckland if we're lucky..!
[quote]
Why the fuck does Yoji's promo pics look like hes from Tekken 4 or something! Smile heh i bet hes some skinny little japenese punk who needs a few 3d generated pics to up his crowd. heh
[quote]
hahaha....Danjar you half wit! classic mate...
[quote]
I noticed tickets were going at Firm records for $25 today (plus their $1 booking fee..) I'm getting mine on Monday when I take my Breakofdawn ticket in for a refund! See y'all there!!
[quote]
yip i got mine $25 hope to see all you welly massive, I've heard this guy before and he is absolutly fuckin fantastic.
[quote]
Only 4 more sleeps kiddies Smile

Are you ready for the future?!?

What Biggies will be attending?!?
[quote]
Would love to go but the funds are a bit tight at the moment, also need to fit in some time for study

So im hanging out for Hullabaloo next week & Andy Farley on December 1st

Who from the biggie boards is going to Gatecrasher at Subnine anyway?? I went to Gatecrasher at the St James in August so im not fussed about missing this one, + I dont have the $ to go to both
[quote]
Grabbin' my ticket for Yoji tomorrow after my last exam. Razz Hmm, and I'm keen on GC at Sub9 as well, but... it's either that or Fevah for me.
[quote]
Ohh baby, fridays only 4 days away!! traded my breakz of dawn ticket for a Yoji ticket today! I'm so looking foward to this one, if what I hear about the guy is true.

By the way, if your living in central Wellington, on Thursday night (I think) FIRM 100.8 is doing a preview of his stuff.....
[quote]
hmm so will this sell out, might just pop in if ive got nothing else to do
[quote]
Sounds like there a few biggies going. Can't wait.

i was thinking.. I probably know a handfull of those that live in wellingotn. Its kinda wierd thinking about it. i just found out that a mate of mine that have known for years was on biggie as well. we had talked online not knowing that we saw each other every day almost. trippy. I wonder who else i know?

Maybe i'll spot you at yoji,
[quote]
Hehe, perhaps. I guess the only way to resolve that is to share first/last names, and that's risky. *grin* Despite the fact that I do it all the time online. Oh well.

Anyway, I'll be the small guy wearing the bright green intensive-care style bracelet that looks immensely gay (along with any entrance bracelet we get). (It's an Intensive care Appeal thing - my sister was in ICU for several months a while ago you see, so I thoroughly support it, to the point of appearing to be gay)

I'm also most likely to be going pretty insane if there's room on the floor. I'm not sure if there will be any room though. Razz

[quote]
I'll rock up and say hi to you voice, you know my styles white quiksilver singlet, blue tinted shades camelbak (people call me camelbak boy Smile And any other biggies out there dont be shy to come and say hi Smile
[quote]
Good decision colgate Smile

Know what time the Yoji show starts?
[quote]
when some one puts a 1 dollar piece into the tekken machine methinks Razz...... i bet he aint even real! Smile

EZ

Danjah
[quote]
Just bought my ticket 20 minutes ago. The flyer says 11 - 2am Andy B (oh yes!), 2am - 5am Yoji (fuckin A, long set!), 5am - 6am Pooley.

It says the lounge bar is open at 10pm with Ryan though...
[quote]
On another note, have you guys noticed the atrocious spelling of Yoji's 'last name'/stage last name? Fucking hell, no wonder I was so confused!

On the top of the flyer: "Biomenhinika"
In the middle of the flyer: "Biomenhanika"
On the ticket: "Biomehanika"

Indeed, the ticket spelling is the correct one, as his official website: http://www.yojibiomehanika.com/

Anyway, quite slack if you ask me... unless there's another reason for the different spellings?
[quote]
Pretty out of it website alright!
[quote]
Na I meant what time will the Yoji show on firmFM on thursday night apparently theyre playing some of his tracks. I'll come and have a whacked out conversation to you @ Yoji, voice.
[quote]
Are you gonna be making an appearance @ Yoji Baynesy we should have a biggie meet up with other biggie members that will be attending.
[quote]
The amazing 'Hoover Noise' is only 3 more sleeps away. Yeahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smile
[quote]
Believe it or not SiR TRaNcEALoT my blister 'I mean sister' brought me a ticket to Robbie Williams for Friday night, so I'll be in town anyway and more than likly I'll go over to the Phoenix to watch Yoji's set... - Definatly keen to meet up with you man. Send me an email if your keen.

ryan.baynes@yellowpages.co.nz
[quote]
Ohhhhhhh shit a ticket to Robbie Williams aye. I suppose it'll be worth going for all the ladies that'll be there Smile. And Robbie aint gonna be playin mad sets until the break of dawn is he. So charge to phoenix after that brah. I'll send you an email on Thursday bout details dude. Laterz
[quote]
YAY!
Thanx for helping me decide where to go and what to do!
But I am going to Robbie 1st (hehehehahaha) - won free tickets at a pub in Carterton of all places!
I'll need to go to Phoniex and get my sanity back afterwards!
[quote]
Sanity is overrated.
[quote]
What were ya doing in Wairarapa JellyBelly thats my home land Smile
[quote]
Definatly right there 'Jellybaby' - gotta cruise to the Phoenix after Robbie to get our sanity back...
[quote]
All these people going to Robbie... *laughs* It's quite distressing.
[quote]
hahaha fully I hope the only reason theyre going is because they have guns pointed at their heads.
[quote]
no way guys....... - can you imagine the ridiculous amount of women that are going to be at this thing?

I mean, hey -the music isnt quite upto our standard, but a packed out Westpac Trust stadium with all the lighting, women etc.... - wont be too bad... - I tell you how it goes at Yoji.... - Hopefully I wouldnt have got too ambitious and indulged at Robbie instead of Yoji!! - hahha.. we'll see...
[quote]
Wait till Yoji Baynesy. Meet some lladies @ Robbie and bring them to Yoji Smile
[quote]
Hahaha, SirTrance - I'll be watching your style with the ladies at Yoji then ah? Razz Maybe I should bring my Hydrapak and we can have camelbak warz. *laughs*

And no, I don't know what that is. Would probably have to clean the encrusted dirt and twigs/grass from my hydrapak first. Smile
[quote]
Sir Trance I am an orginal wairarapa'ion' too! yay for the Wairarapa! :-~
[quote]
Go the bush! _ JellyBelly Smile

Voinceinsideyou yeah bring along your hydropak and well go round having H²0 shoot outs.
[quote]
Hehehe, errr, I dunno eh.... Razz I feel like I'd have to wear a singlet then. *grin*
[quote]
I will be brah crusing in a white singlet, with camelbak, white shoes Smile Lets go get some girls wet!
[quote]
Well I guess I'll be able to put names to faces with you guys tonight then wont I!

[quote]
Mos def Baynesy! What time are you gonna b gettin there?
[quote]
Depends on what time I get away from Robbie mate...
I'd say I'll be there around 12ish or so mate....
I'm a tall guy with shortish brown/blonde hair....

What about yourself?
[quote]
Yeah prolly around 12ish or so. Dont wanna get there 2 early. Yojis on at 2 going mad until 5. Yeah a 3 hour set Smile
[quote]
Wheres all the hype its tonight!!!!!!!! Come on people get charging!!!!!!!! Smile
[quote]
yoji went off in chch last nite!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[quote]
How was Unity George?!?
[quote]
Yoji is unbelievable, do not miss this dude. Make sure you got stacks of energy (lots and lots) cos he neva lets you put your feet back on the ground.

enjoy..
[quote]
Anyways Im outties gonna go rev up for Yoji, any Biggie members attending just rock up and say ello anygirls come up and see voiceinsideyou and myself and well get ya WET!!!!!!!!!! (with our camelbaks of course Smile

Hope to see some biggies there

The weekend has landed lets go get munted Smile
[quote]
unity was epic!
[quote]
Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yea!! Cya guys all there. I'll be the guy with shortish dark hair, black/blue shoes, greyish shirt with plastic toggles hanging off it.

Listened to some of his stuff on Firm 100.8 last night. This guys going to be fucking insane! looking foward it it, see ya'll there.
[quote]
How good was this man!!??? The atmosphere when he came on was electric! Had the whole ministry eating out of his hands!!! Smile
[quote]
i'll back up every entry previous to this one regarding yoji...he's is fucking sick...no other DJ can do what he can-his energy and electricity behind the decks matches no other.cheers to OB1 and the unity crew for signing him up for the night.
[quote]
Only 6 more hours before the amazing hover noise!!! I hope y'all are ready! I'll be on the look out for you guys... baynesy, Trancelot, colgate.... whoooohooooo. I'll be the one with dirty grey shoes with fucked laces cause my dog ate them.
[quote]
Shit, didn't check back on this thread last light - sorry Baynesy. Regardless, Yoji was pretty damn good - heaps of fucking energy. Twas a pity that I spent twenty-five minutes scrabbling around looking for my glasses after some fuck elbowed them off my head. Cheers to Colgate for finding them somehow, despite the fact that he was dancing on the other side of the dancefloor. Insane - good luck though.

Yeah, Yoji was great, although I was left feeling ... hmm, like there was something missing. Maybe my night just didn't have that something extra to get me going. Maybe it was just that I'd spent five hours digging trenches and moving dirt manually at my mates place beforehand. Very Happy

Anyway, I was a bit bummed that I didn't see you guys - I only saw one dude with a camelbak (actually I think it was a hyrapak/sak) and he wasn't wearing a white singlet. Sad

I'm sure you guys saw me though. Short dude, black/red hair, dark blue eng'd jeans and a light grey tight T. Going kinda insane, weirding other people out. Razz
[quote]
hmmm yeah i shouldah gone, oh well bring on G.C in auck and welly and hullla and sanchez if i end up getting there
[quote]
Fuck, my legs are soooooo sore from dancing at Yoji. 5 hours solid...woohoo. Would luv 2 know wot the other biggies there look like so i can say hi next time. I was the short chick with the black hipster flares, black and metal belt and rubber halterneck top....also going crazy on the dance floor. Um, maybe I saw u there voice...u the mental dancer down the front, in front of the stage? Shit there were some crazy dancers there last nite....I luv it! Well I'm def going 2 Hullaballo and Fevah if anyone one was to met up.
[quote]
um gimpgirl... did u miss something? yes i think u did, i think it was the part about how ur also going to gatecrasher!!!!!!!
[quote]
LOL...am I?....dunno if it will be any good tho? Well, I could be up 4 it...possibly...if....
[quote]
if what? aye!? if i pay 4 ur ticket?
what do u mean it wont be any good? it will be better then hulla and fevah combined 4 sure!
[quote]
its Gatecrasher!!!
[quote]
yeah, but I mean with S9 being the venue....don't know why they don't use a bigger one, being GC and all. Plus it's the night b4 Fevah. Oh, and the "if" ws if I have the right - enhancement. Just think if it was on a different weekend they might get a bigger crowd, u know? I went 2 Lemon8 last sat...really good, but because Derrick Cartner was upstairs and So Twisted at Pheonix, bugger all people there, doesn't make for a great atmosphere.
Don't know about it being better than Fevah tho...fuck, Andy Farley...oooh.
[quote]
Just 'cause it has the Gatecrasher name does not mean it's a guaranteed good nite. Theres a thread about this some weeks back, something about buying the rights to the name...dunno if that is true or not. Anyway, just one international dj (never heard of him, what's he like?)...hmmmm, my money's on fevah.
[quote]
Heh. Heh. Heh. Yes, Gimpgirl, I was indeed the insane one down in front of the stage (for the last couple of hours mainly). Yay to my crazy dance style! Fuck it if no other guys dance like me. Razz

So what colour was your halterneck? I was pretty distinctive with my spiked black/red hair, which gradually got messier as the night progressed. Very Happy

Hmm, I'm sceptical about GC too .... it's $47 isn't it? Ouch (on the wallet). Plus, there'll be more of the 'pop' crowd there... not sure if that's good or bad overall.
[quote]
Haha....yep definitely saw u then, luved your dancing too Voice...I like watching other people dance and totally go off. My halterneck was black (haha, that distinctive colour)...I was dancing down the front near u quite a bit...short girl, dark short hair, specially near the end...I was there until it finished..think u were too? Well, know I know wot u look like I will come and say hello.
Yeah, I am totally skeptical about GC...I don't think they'll get heaps of people..well, like u say, the more commercial dance-orientated punters maybe. I know that Fevah will go off so I'm gonna save my $$ for that...and Hullaballo...damn it's gonna be hot there, that carpark @ Dark Forces was like a sauna. I think I'll take a camelpak this time 'cause u can't refill water bottles.
[quote]
Phoa, I've just clawed my way out of bed after 2 fullon nights...damn. Yeah, agreed voice -- Yoji was good, but lacking... somthing.. I think it was the atmosphere, I was at Around the House last night with transtemporal, really small crowd of the usual regulars at S9 (fuck it was good to get back to nine after weeks away from it. I love that place) anyway, everyone was just having a rad time, and it was going off. Smiles all around, and good good house. I fucking luve house music, espically going back to it after all the trance of the last few weeks.

cause I'm jungle brutha..... rippin up.... sorry, got the jb's playing here Smile

I love house
[quote]
Heheeeeeeee! *laughs* Fuck, I'll bet I saw you gg, but I can't fucking remember. This is gonna kill me now. Very Happy Ermm, I don't suppose.... by chance ... you have a sister called Claire? That would freak me the fuck out if you say yes. *grin*

Hmm, go the camelbak crew! Maybe I should being mine if I go to Hullabaloo. I can't decided between GC, Hullabaloo and Fevah - it's too goddam hard. And there is the sauna-effect to think about - good point.

Man - you're my idol Colgate! I was fucked last night, hence not even joining you for the coffee. I always sleep so badly after a night out - I think that's my problem. I am looking forward to getting back to 9 again after three weeks @ Phoenix. How long'd ya stay till Colgate?
[quote]
That was INSANE! but very very good, looked out for people saw no camelbaks? Mind you my eyes were shut alot of the time '.)
[quote]
i've had a primo weekend! i got a free ticket to Robbie Williams 2hrs b4 the concert (hehe) i went 4 the atmosphere, dnt really like his music, i was amazed at how many guys were there too (& singin the words!) next up was phoenix, paid $25 on the door to warm up in the firm room to ollyb and sweet (sorry yoji) then headed 4 studio9/sub9 my fav place in twn, paid $20 to unicef on the door and it was goin off all nite!!!!! i think i saw a dude with a camel back @phoenix with white billabong singlet... also i really agree with colgate i fuckin love house too
[quote]
Yeah man, probably just as well you didn't cruise out for a coffee, 'cause I was holed up at work untill 10:30 so didn't get down there untill 11:30, you'd prob have missed me. Was going hard at Studio9 untill about 5:30ish I think. Walked home and watched the sunrise and the streetlights go out. When the streetlights switch off, that means it's time for me to go to bed Smile

Hey, the bass frontiers crew + MC Antic + Concorde Dawn are playing at nine this Friday (the 23rd) should be a good night.. see ya there?

missbgirl - I heard that dance for life was a really good night. Wish I could be in two places at once eh?
[quote]
Voice...nah I don't have a sister.
Colgate...I was at around the House too...fucking excellent nite eh...really good crowd and atmosphere, yeah i love that place too.
I'm am def up for Concorde Dawn..woohoo, another full-on weekend coming up...can't wait.
[quote]
Nice one, we should meet up then eh? I've been thinking about it, and I think I'll be Concorde Dawn friday and Hullabaloo on the Saturday... Clubbing in Auckland the friday after that Smile Dam it's a hard life.
[quote]
Dear god, I maintain - you have too much money. Razz

I'm trying to keep my other interests/hobbies in tact, so refuse to do both Friday and Saturday nights right now. Ahhh... hmm, I don't know whether to go for BF/CD or Hullabaloo. ARGGHHHHHHT.

I think it's harder choosing between them than going to both. *grin*

gg: Just as well. Otherwise it would have been way too freaky. Smile
[quote]
Holy shit! That was one pretty crazy night!!!
Walked out of Westpac trust Stadium feeling pretty good after being amongst many of Wellingtons finest female talent.....however apart from the electric atmosphere at the stadium, I felt like I had been at a carols by candlelight & suddenly the erge to get to see Yoji lifted that much more.

I walked upto someone with a camelpack asking if he was from the biggie site and he babbled some shit to me.... - couldn't really understand him... so I kinda left it at that...

Sorry I missed out on meeting the rest of you guys..voiceinsideyou, Colgate, gimpgirl, SiR TRaNcEALoT - Still two more opportunities with Hullabaloo & fevah coming up though....

Anyway, how about Yoji though aye? pretty amazing stuff.... you could just hear his skills coming through the speakers....
Thought James (Pooley) was pretty good aswell, nice set there for sure...
Spent quite abit of time in the chillout room too..
I was wearing a black singlet if anyone saw me...

[quote]
Hehe, that's not particularly distinctive Baynesy. Razz No doubt we all saw each other and have probably seen each other before - I see so many regulars around when I head out after all. Smile
