Lack of demand? Er...you were outside BK, it's not like they were official presales
I'm sure if you listed them at Sounds or somewhere then you'd get them sold

Ticket sales are a hard concept. For example, if YBR were to make $15 tickets available officially through Sounds / Ticketek etc.. They can't touch the money until the day after the event. So, for example if they sold 100 x $1500, that's $1500 that a) has to be paid into a company account b) is taxable c) comes with booking fees, inside fees, credit card fees and manufacturing fees (printing) and d) the money will be kept in a trust and won't be available until the day after the event.
Now most wouldn't consider that an issue, but when $1500 pays all your dj's cash-in-hand it makes things a lot harder when you have to wait a day, just to pay them..
Also, the booking fees are generally $2 - so that brings your $15 ticket price to $17. Of your $15 generally there is a $1 or $2 inside fee from the Ticketing company.. So that leaves you with $13. Then if people decide to use Credit card, expect another 2% fee incurred.
What Callanderkid did last time is the easiest option - albeit its open to fraudalent activities and isn't as professional as one would hope, but it served its purpose.
I'm confident YBR will be successful even without the Ticket sales.. I guess you just gotta roll-in early to avoid the cues
