hey team, thought I would start getting the word out about the next X-plicit installation on the 7th February 09 at The Garden Club, featuring not one but two Swiss dark trance DJ's, including the one and only Dave Joy!!!
Here is some info on our special guests for evening, to get everyone excited about the event!! This is the first time either of these boys have come to our country before, and this is an exclusive showing not to be missed!!
We will also be welcoming back our main man and original X-plicit resident Jared P from the UK!!!
And, last but not least, for the second room we are lucky enough to have a night of breaks and drum and bass, with 'Backspacer feat. Frederick Crew'.
Dave Joy:
Dave Joy is considered to be one of only a few Swiss artists who have managed to gain international success in the dance music industry. As well as his renowned club hits “First Impressionâ€, "Third Pleasure" and "Fourth Joyride", all under his own name, he is also a regular collaborator with other producers, and has released tracks under the guises Basic Dawn, Emphasysts and Schattenmann. The fruits of these projects graced such labels as Planet Traxx Records, Reality Bites and Overdose, to name but a few. In addition to this, he has gained yet further recognition for his remixes for Jam-X & de Leon, Alphazone, DJ Dean or Nish, all of which can be found on numerous compilations.
In this arena, Dave Joy has been responsible for mixing three editions of the CD series “Hard-Trance X-Plosionâ€, starting with Volume 24 in 2003. In addition, he also contributed to the double CD “PEAK TIMEâ€, working alongside Sydney resident DJ Yoshi, which was released in Australia beginning of 2007.
At the start of 2006 he successfully started his own label JOYRIDE MUSIC, which now encompasses Phoenix Recordings; as well as the sub-labels Joyride Recordings, Thrust Groove Records and Doof Doof Traxx. Recent releases have included tracks and remixes by internationally-acclaimed artists Sean Tyas, Legend B, CJ Stone, Substate, Chris & Matt Kidd, Nish, Bas & Ram, Sa.Vee.Oh and many more. He is also handling the affairs of Hard Kandy Recordings Australia, Synthetic Tunez, Troxx Records and Blitzfaktor Records, in a consulting capacity.
With a reputation for his versatile sets, Dave Joy has become a well-respected DJ who is much in demand. He spins at various international clubs and events, including Club MAD (Lausanne), Tunnel Club (Hamburg), Nature One Festival (Kastellaun) (all in Germany), Bionic (Cardiff) and Atmosphere (Devon) (both in the UK), 3D (Melbourne), Home (Sydney), Rise (Perth) (all in Australia) and has also played as a guest DJ in clubs such as OXA (Zurich, Switzerland), The Fridge (London, UK), Dance Academy (Plymouth, UK), Defqon1 (Almere Beach in Holland) not to mention further appearances in China and South Africa.

DJ Madwave:
2007 marked the fitting celebration of DJ Madwave’s 10th Anniversary as an artist. His exuberant personality, free flowing creativity and last but not least, his technical ability combined with awe inspiring track selections have quickly propelled him to the forefront of the Swiss scene. In 2001, he was responsible for mixing the official “Street Parade Live†compilation, which sold over 14,000 copies. He has also mixed numerous other compilations, including two editions of the “DJ @ WORK†series, as well as the CD’s “Shivaâ€, “Trance.com†and “Magic Kingdomâ€. In the same year he commemorated his anniversary with the CD release “SYNERGY†which was produced, mixed and released in co-operation with fellow mate Dave Joy on their highly respected label Phoenix Recordings. Once released this CD was stated as “Compilation of the Month†in the leading British dance magazine Mixmag.
Based in the French part of Switzerland, Madwave (real name Stephane Imbach), quickly became the heavyweight in the Swiss dance scene, appearing as resident DJ around local Swiss clubs and events offering his energetic and original sets. He was the only ‘Swiss French’ DJ member of the TAROT Family and played more than fifty times at famous events Sensor and OXA in Zurich, Switzerland. Further residencies were held in such clubs as MAD (Lausanne), MOA (Geneva) and Globull (Bulle) as well as being a welcome guest at major raves and events playing at Zurich Street Parade, Lake Parade, Energy, Goliath, Shiva and Atlantis. His reputation also led him to play abroad at Metropolis (Paris, France), Love Parade (Berlin, Germany), Glamour Club (Tahiti, French Polynesia), ECU Club (Rimini, Italy) Tropics and Bumper’s (Lloret del Mar, Spain) and Euro Palace in Frankfurt, Germany.
For many years, DJ Madwave has not only been active as a reviewer for the biggest Swiss electronic music magazine PartyNews which was published on a monthly basis, but was and still is promoting his own Synergy events which take place in his hometown. On the production side, Stephane already released tracks and remixes in collaboration with Swiss DJ and producer Mike ‘Synthetic’ Schuhmacher, which were successfully released on his own label Phoenix Recordings established in 2006. His project Synergy and the releases ‘The Anthem 2006’ and ‘The Anthem 2007’ included mixes from Jesselyn and Madwave himself and gained international recognition being requested onto bigselling CD’s compiled by DJ Shog, DJ Dean, Gary D, DJ Archie, Yoshi and many more. Following this success Phoenix Recordings released originals from Michael Tsukerman, C-Base and Karybde & Scylla with international guests Sebastian Brandt, P.H.A.T.T., Mr Philips, Jorn van Deynhoven, Jon The Baptist + DJ Chuck-E, Reyes and DJ Choose on remix duties. Major support was instantly offered from global keyp;ayers such as Armin Van Buuren, Judge Jules, Tiesto, Christopher Lawrence, Above & Beyond, Kutski, Matt Darey, Ernesto vs Bastian, Hemstock & Jennings, Louk, Jon O’Bir and many others…
