As far as I know there is nothing wrong with the CA18's.

There's plenty of debate on all the silvia sites regarding CA vs SR but they all conclude that the CA is almost as good.

the actual engine themselves is fine, its the condition of them that is causing problems, if i had known and taken one or two extra oil precautions i would prolly have an ok motor, but the imports from japan are well known to be fucked pretty much when they get here (dont ask me why i *think* something to do with engine layout although thats only my assumption) and its hard to find CA18 2nd hand, in fact if u ring the wreckers you will find the ca18's are generally more expensive than the sr20 purely because its hard to find good condition CA18's, and seeing as mine will fit an SR20 without much buggering around id prefer a 2L also for resale value (not the value is much but its something)
