Cause
In 2009 the stakes for World Vision have risen. A global recession, a rapidly spreading pandemic putting Third World populations at risk, and widespread starvation and malnutrition across continental Africa in combination with an increasingly apathetic view taken by first world populations.
In order to combat this apathy and bring unseen tragedies to the fore, World Vision is putting on a charity rock concert at Garden Club on Friday 29 May with up-coming local bands Supermodel and New Friends plus supporting guest DJs spinning electro, and DnB until the wee hours.
For this event World Vision are aligning with Victoria University to assist with stopping the abuse and exploitation of child labour in India (www.famine.org.nz/uni).
