So called high-speed Internet in the air is apparently still going to be quite slooooow slooooow to begin with.

I've noticed that most planes in the USA have phones that you can plug your laptop into to get on the internet, the only problem is it costs heaps (and is also slow).

Forest has been on posting makeing sure his title stays in tact huh?? :o)

Boeing is installing it so you'd be stupid not to order the planes with it in if you were an airline, would only be above the US to start with, they'd build in the capacity to go fast but they'd throttle it depending on the airline prob. It says it uses satellites but it's pretty hard to keep up with a satellite when you're moving 1000kph. might be unrealiable at first, then there's the data send issue, it's going to cost at first me thinks, but then think about the amount of people that use in flight phones inside the US on short flights, apparently its a hundred $$ a year business. Not bad residual income if you're boeing and you get to be the ISP :o)
