RODNEY P AND SKITZ
At a time when UK Hip Hop is arguably at its strongest point ever, Urban Notion present two of the UK's top artists for a Queen's birthday showcase like none other. Rodney P (aka 'Riddim Killa') is a veteran of the British Hip Hop scene, often described as the 'Godfather' of UK Hip Hop. He earned the
utmost respect in the global Hip Hop scene with classic tracks; 'Money Mad' and 'Pass me the Rizla' which are regarded by many as anthems. Since his early success, Rodney has worked with the leading lights of the UK scene including Roots Manuva, Mark B, Blade and NZ's very own Freq Nasty. It is however, the partnership with UK production giant Skitz, that has been recent the focus. Watch out for the Riddim Killa's new album, 'The Future', dropping soon.
Skitz is undoubtedly one of the UK's most respected Hip Hop producers. Over the past years has released a number of tracks which have received critical acclaim throughout the globe. Skitz's debut album 'Countryman' featuring the talents of artists such as Dynamite MC, Rodney P and Roots Manuva won the Hip Hop album of the year at the 2001 Hip Hop awards. He has also done a number of remixes such as the Pharohe Monch classic, 'Simon Says' for Rawkus.
Skitz and Rodney P host the infamous 'Original Fever' Hip Hop show on BBC's 1Xtra online radio station.
The pairing of these 2 veteran Hip Hop masters will undoubtedly ensure a night of epic proportion which will leave its mark in history books. Ready to be part of it?
