Wifi USB Harddrive sharing

Anyone got a setup with this? Wifi router that allows a USB hard-drive to be shared on the network? Something like:

Ideal for what I want, wondering about NZ availability and pricing?

Havent seen or used it before. Can get it for $254 incl.

Haven't ever used such things myself (all our storage is server-bound), but what people who have tried tell me is that performance varies wildly depending on how good the implementation is.

I bought one of these which has a usb port on back for extendable memory

why not keep the wifi and the NAS separate?

ps cheap NASs are slow as fuck better to buy a cheap 2nd hand comp for $100 imo.

ps some require the usb drive to be formatted for linux so chances are you cant us it as a normal usb drive on your comp too.

windows wont let you format FAT32 beyond 32gigs but theres ways around that.

Unless you're talking 802.11n Wifi then I wouldn't bother.

And regardless, why not? g is perfectly capable of at the very least a 720p stream.
