A good direction I think; with $ comes expansion; with expansion comes
diversity.

Once we have the diversity of sound of say; the States; then we can break away from having just one "NZ HIP HOP SOUND" and have many! Music

yeah thats a good way of looking at it..
when i first saw the title of the thread i was thinking "fuck i hate nz hiphop"
but yeah we'll see eh.

NZ actually has a vibrant and varied scene. In Australia, Hip hop is huge but because they are all 'down' with each other they don't set higher standards for themseves and shit sounds all the same or just plateaus.

In NZ underground groups are doing 'their' own thing and so are the commercial cats. There maybe more bitching and politics (see hiphopnz.com) but people are getting really innovative and developing their own sound.

Big up my boys Cyphanetik and Tourettes and Breakinwreck. BOOOOH

breakin wreckwords -> all good.

deceptikonz, i fucken hate. savage thinks he's pretty southside, yet he works at the mount eden BP.. fat fuck.

still though the more mainstream hiphop gets in general, the more the underground quality acts will shine through.

Yeah; i'm feeling the ^^^^^ vibe haha.

I'm liking the new shit from Breakin wreckwordz and other people who aren't afraid to spit shit that they actually do: aka drink/fuck/fight etc.
NZ hip hop has been shrouded for too long under the whole "NZ on Air; we don't swear or talk about pussy hair" shit.

NZ'ders are raw as well; we just didn't spit it for a while Music

I would prefer listening to Savage anyday to that garbage. At least he can tell a story and make sense

How about Dei Homo. Pleae don't say your'e feeling him. Laughing sorry G we on the same page most of the time!!

You know it! 'Savage Feel' produced by Juse featuring Savage and Shane Carter is without a doubt....a classic. And Submariners production throughout the album is 'deeper than atlantis'.. Razz
