Whats your Favourite Cafes in Wgtn?

Apart from the club scene where do the rest of you Welli biggies like to hang out during the day etc?

For me The Matterhorn would have to be tops of my list mainly cause I like the chilled out atmosphere in there

After that probably Felix

I like the Crema Gallery on the Terrace. Great friendly people and I like to support what they\'re doing there (great coffee, art, happy times).
Or on weekends Go Bang in Petone. although they need to make more brioche so they don\'t run out.

Expressaholics not too bad

i used to spend hours a day at Krazy Lounge when it first opened, and i still love it.... cute owner

but now, i would say Felix as well.. great food, staff\'s ok, great layout, good coffee (very particular about my coffee - big Supreme fan)

also Fidel\'s on Cuba... great food, great coffee, great atmosphere, great music, great staff

I like the purple onion for comfort & style.. and
the Astoria for the view of the kitchen!

hmmmmmmmmmm, depends on what coffee I\'m after... I used to be a big Supreme fan but now Lafare gets my vote (both the cafe and the coffee).

I\'m a big brava fan cause it\'s close to where I live plus u can chill out at the back or in the summer u can watch the world go by sitting outside. I used to think it was a bit wanky, but its cool.

ooh yeah.... purple onion is a new one for me... they also have great food, and coffee, decor...

definitely felix - the staff used to be a bit grumpy but they are pretty cool now there\'s a few new people, plus they do YUMMY cereal, fruit and yoghurt! Also purple onion for laxing out and being close to home. Just to be negative In would say the Jimmy Cafe (in the st James theatre) is shit! Crap food, crap coffee (which you have to wait 20 mins for), crap atmosphere, and service with a scowl!

my old flatmate was probably one of those grumpy staff
he was a manager there, and very depressed... hardly ever smiled... i think there were some phoenix munters working there too

there was one guy - adam I think his name was who used to work there who I used to chat with a little at Phoenix, was he your old flattie?

I used to work at Minnow on Featherston St if any of you guys have ever been there

They do a pretty nice brunch (mmm pancakes with bacon, banana & maple syrup :b)

krazy lounge did it for me, and, expressoholic is a pretty rad little place on cuba st.

Every time ive been down welli way ive made a special effort to go to Fidels cos its goooooood

Now that I\'ve thought of it... I quite like Wholly
Bagels as well.... but they\'re better taken away
with a nice coffee and eaten in a park or
something... the cafe\'s themselves seem a little
sterile - lacking in atmosphere... but the coffee &
the bagels are fantastic :0)

we used to have breakfast in the Willis St Wholly Bagels 2-3 times a week, it\'s a great place for people-watching and people you know would always pop in for chats. Nice start to the day...

Yep, Fidels rocks my world too...def the best. Also like Matterhorn and Felix...and for that coffee by the bay...Choccie Fish is my fav.

The Purple Onion, cuba street. They let you, if you ask nicely, book out a table for twenty for your birthday, so you can keep your ,not so asleep friends who have been out all night at Farenheight, friends somewhere to be entertainers, and if you do go there ask Hanna for a special birthday latte, but just make sure your not driving.....and the foods wicked too......yeah big ups too the purple onion crew
