Now this is not a pissing competition, Just really keen to hear what other people have _realistically_ planned for their cars.

It can be mild or wild or what ever

List your mods / future mods here.

not toooo bad .. about $700 US ... that includes the DDE and Xenon headlight unit.

my main worry is that they will have a US light spread pattern .. and ill most likely have to change back my old head lights around warrent time ...

Swapping GT3540 turbo for GT3035 possibly GT30R (500BHP goal)
new high rise exhaust manifold - procoated

heh, i remember talking to him about the FMIC. the logical thing is to paint the grill in front of it to hide it.....but on the other hand, it's not often you see such a thing sitting on a BMW, it would lend it just a touch of toughness Wink
[quote]
It's only rice if it doesn't aid performance. Gauges would be a necessary "evil" so all good, IMO! Smile

Especially with the very smooth A-Pillar moulds that you can mount them in these days Smile

Of course if you get an 8 inch monster gauge then you should be shot Razz

heh ... as Pfunk said .. its needed ... there is no way im putting holes in my dash ... it all depends if I can find the a-pillar pod I need.

My brothers Evo has a really nice version of the pillar mount .. very descret.

this is however the other option

For the headlights with DDE fitment ... and idea what they look like (also pic shows the bumper thats on order) ...

http://img215.exs.cx/img215/5928/dsc004679yh.jpg

SuperCharger pics

http://www.esstuning.com/admin/upload/p_1_20040806031249.jpg

I wont be using the standard intercooler that comes with it .. as it just to small .. and looks like a Aircon radiator :/

So am looking at a s15 trust or greddy one .. as it has the lenth needed to cover the m3 bumper airdam.
It will be hidden behind descret black mesh as not to show to much..

thats not too bad a setup.

very slick looking carputer screen setup there too.

Sell car... buy a bat Smile
[quote]
Well.... I've yet to decide exactly IF I want to modify this car.... it's so damn near perfect to begin with Smile Although since I've put modding the TVR TR7 on hold, I'll probably get the bug again in a year or so when the mood takes me...

"Near Future list" :
(probably the end of this year, start of next I'll start on these)

- ITG CF Maxogen InductionAIR kit
- EliseParts full Stainless sports exhaust kit (including cat removal and replacement headers)
- Trophy 160 Throttle Body
- Emerald MD3K ECU

"Further afield list" (2-3 years)

- Short throw gearlever and improved linkage
- Full Nitron Suspension Kit
- Carbon Fibre Exige Rear Diffuser
- Brake upgrade of some description (will be sad to lose the lightweight Aluminium MMC brakes though)
- Fully ported big-valve head.
- Jenvey DTH throttle bodies.
- ECU re-map to take advantage of above of above.
- LSD + Close-Ratio Exige gearbox.

"4-5 year plan"

- K-Series 240bhp Supercharger kit (most likely)
OR Honda K20A conversion kit with all the goodies

All sounds terribly expensive when it's added up like that Smile The thing is, if I do heaps to it, or do nothing to it, it's still one of the best cars on the road... I've never driven ANYTHING that even comes close to being as fun to drive! Smile Quick enough to embarrass a few more expensive/powerful cars too!
[quote]
Yeah dude depending on what spec K20A you are after they cost about $12,000-15k for the whole conversion kit
[quote]
Yeah I could probably do it for a LITTLE cheaper... I know someone who's already done one on their Elise and his is VERY quick.... I do prefer the Rover engine though, it's way more torquey and flexible, having said that I wouldn't mind one of each... a flexible Rover-engined Elise for the road and a schitzo Honda powered version for the track Smile
[quote]
Yeah, I reckon having 2 different Elises to choose from would be pretty good. Smile
[quote]
Heh,

One is quite enough for me at the moment.... it's a way better car than I'll ever be a driver..... I'd LOVE to do a few things to it though... remove the nasty euro-cat, get a bit better induction system for it so you can actually HEAR the engine, and possibly some slightly larger headers to improve the breathing... then it'd be the perfect road car..... quick enough to see off most things through the twisties in the dry Smile

I got one sitting around - wat sorta car u got?

92 GSR.

Either Drop an evo engine in or just play with minor mods - not too fussed really. Goes hard enuff at the mo and other plans b4 the car (A-B)

Um, Chadious.. you kinda need to know what boost pressure you are running if you have a turbo/supercharger, and even more so if you've added one (or two for that matter) to a standard N/A engine. Personally I like to know whats going on under my hood.
But yeah I agree that too many gauges looks like shyte. specially if they are just fastened to the dash with those ghey metal cup holders.

Long term goal is to get my Datto on the road with S15 running gear. Funds and time are lacking at this point in time.

Would like to get a 2-dr 1600 instead. So maybe in the end when I get the cash I will scrap the 4-dr idea and mod a 2-dr instead.

That's cos SR20s are awesome Razz (and have all the connections for RWD of course).

Only other real options if you want big nuts but not too much weight up the front is a 13B turbo or twin turbo. Everyone's done that too though...
[quote]
13bs are heavy sons of biarches..... compact? yes, light? No.... SR20s are rather light engines though. Good thing with Rotaries are that they are so compact... that even though they're heavy, you can get the weight where you want it
[quote]
i didn't say they weren't awesome Razz

i guess i just like things to be slightly different Wink

can you imagine the response when you pop the hood to reveal all that v6 gear squeezed in? Wink

Got some power to weight stats on that?

I don't disbelieve - I'm just very keen to see the stats!
[quote]
Well a 12A is almost 300lbs with all ancillaries which is about 132kg.... similarish weight to an SR20DET in fact, I'd expect a 13b to be a little heavier.. maybe 140kg

I know engines like the 1.8 Toyota unit is 140kg ish.... I suppose as far as ultimate power/weight goes they're not too bad.... but compare it to a lightweight 1.8L/2L engine at ~100kg, it's not exactly light. It's just the fact that you still have to use cast iron in a Rotary whereas most modern reciprocating engines are all-alloy.
[quote]
F'real - I guess the end caps are cast iron? The housings are aluminium, which is probably why they bend so easily Razz
[quote]
Bingo..... it's just the case of having a large, flat area needing to resist large pressures... alloy doesn't cut it.

Engine in the Elise is 94kgs with all ancillaries.... granted it doesn't make a huge amount of power, but then, when it's not got much weight to push around it does alright for itself Smile
[quote]
Yeah...13 second quarters out of the box seems like "enough power" to me Wink
[quote]
I doubt it'd quite do 13s.... maybe a 14-flat.... inlet/exhaust should easily see it crack into the 13s though.... but I doubt I'll ever run it down the 1/4 mile to find out Razz

I am not much of a fan of the 300ZX so never followed to VG30 at all Kris.

I wanna stick with a nissan lump to stay some what true to the brand though. SR20 fits the bill, and is an easy swap. Besides, I hardly see 510's cruising around, I only ever see them in mags or on the net.

I could put a 13B in my RWD 323. I would prefer just to leave it stock and orignal.

Your have an evo. Its meant to have gauges on the pillar.

Nemisis has a 330 with leather, gauges should be hidden until needed.

Superchargers rule \/\/
[quote]
If you wanna safely run a supercharger application on a factory NA car then atleast a few gauges need to be visible at all times
