What was your 1st time like

So to try and get a bit of life in the forum,

what was your first party? where was it and when, and what can you remember if anything.

I'll start,

my first party was in London at a place called bagleys, I was 16 at the time, and the most remorable thing was the two girls who exclamed that they did the whole night without drugs and had stuff thrown at them

I was six years old and lying in bed while my parents were having a party downstairs, and my Uncle Terry came into my room...

Oh wait, are we talking about dance parties???

Mine was Tony De Vit at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in '96. Basement Jaxx played the same venue the next night. Was quite epic and bloody packed!

Didn't go to much after that until '99 when I used to hang out at Judder Bar (now Vespa) First big party would have been Gatecrasher at Aotea Centre in Auckland with Tall Paul, John Fleming and Tiesto I think.

I've been to some pretty epic parties over the years, the most epic have always been in Wellington.

First "big" parties i went to were at the globe in Palmy, the most memorable being one of the Bass Fronters gigs, where i first heard propa Drum & Bass.

My first party was in my pants when I was like, 12.

first 'real' gig was... I have no fking idea.

JTC, I was at that Aotea Centre Gatecrasher. Memorable for taking a really strong orange lolly and throwing it up right in front of J'00'F.

First big "dance" gig would have been a NYE at Studio9, no idea what year, mebbe 99?

My first gig was a Twisted in 2003. My first big party though was Hullabaloo at the Town Hall with DuMonde. That was an awesome night

My first dance experiences were going to Judder Bar, Globe, and Tatou on various nights.

My first 'big' event was Fevah with Andy Farley in 2001 (or was it 200? can't remember). His set was so hard that I couldn't get into it - now looking back though, I probably play about twice as hard as that myself

Would have to be the first Eden around '91..? Think it was in Willis Street somewhere - maybe where the Grand Arcade is. The start of a very interesting period of time to say the least...

that was an epic night! well, epic weekend actually. then de vit died a few months later, on my birthday even. so glad i got to see him play, he was fucking incredible!

first party would have been 4 years or so earlier when i was 16ish.. bought a ticket, called the phone number on the back, on the arvo of the gig, and went to a warehouse off the back end of k road somewhere. my first introduction to techno. stone cold sober and still storming at 6am.

i got in heaps of trouble though, my folks found out i didnt stay at my mates that night hehe. but it was worth it! :headspin:

I would give anything to have seen TDV play - his productions and mixes form the foundation of the kind of dance music I love. Every tune I own of his I treasure, and still bash out on the odd occasion. Alas, I am just a couple years too young to have been there in 96

One of those old Helix(?) warehouse parties on top of the Wakefield markets in about 97ish. I would have been about 16. The BP pies across the road at 6am were epic as well.
