I made this post earlier, but i thought i might actually find out what sort of people the biggies really are...

So please state what type of intelligence you best associate with?

There is in my opinion to forms of intelligence,

Academic intelligence
And practical intelligence...

People might be one or both, a person could be a straight A student but has the social and practical intelligence of a secluded deranged nomad...

But on the other hand a person could be extremely practical, quick, witty, with a high level of social cohesion but substantialy do very poorly at any academical work....

Neither is less inteligent than the other they are just smart in their own way...

Personally i prefer the second type as a person they succeed in their own way and are generally better people to get on with...

It is generally quite easy to pick what type of intelligence people are from meeting them. On biggie i have meet many forms of both, with some exceptional talent in both areas...

i lack both

I'm shit at academic stuff, but not dumb by any stretch of the imagination

Maybe I'm just no good with authority

*shrugs*
[quote]
When i was younger i used to be mainly academic. Within the last few years my intelligence has become far more practical. I would say that this has something to do with not studying and being out in the working world.

[quote]
I can hold my own with academics, even though I don't keep all that current with academic stuff these days. Quite a few of my friends in Wellington are tutors or lecturers so they keep me on my toes!

I'm kind of in my element in any social situation though. But don't tell anyone though. Its supposed to be secret! Heh heh heh.
[quote]
I think I have a bit of both.... although sometimes it is better for another person who knows you to judge your character... you can sometimes both under-estimate or over-estimate yourself...

The_Humpy_Dog a.k.a johnyg? What do you think?
[quote]
more practical i think with the odd surprising academic thrown in to well, surprise those that assume im stupid
[quote]
Dont expose me eyecandy, the humpydog has been set free...

Anyway ummm that is true alot of people have mixed opinions upon themselves which are justified and unjustified. A know a fear few people who are constantly undervaluing themselves because they feel lowly of themselves. due to the fact it is often quite hard to comprehend what you are personally like.

Alot of people consider themselves ordinary or of low intelligence due to the fact that they have never really excelled academically. But the same person is of the most lovely, friendly, and semi-charismatic nature. That will do really well in the non-academic field... they just need to understand and appreciate this...

From meeting you yes you do do excel in both areas.... lucky ;p
[quote]
johnyg - sorry to but in but was it you I met outside bed on friday night when you were talking to brad?? Smile
[quote]
One of those kids that never had to try hard at school or uni and managed to get by ....

Depends on the frame of mind that Im in to whether I have some practical sense. Some days yes .... other days no...
[quote]
My best friends like that johnyg!

Hes good-looking, fit, skinny, good-natured, funny and cool. Ever since I've known him, hes never been more than two weeks without a girlfriend. And his girlfriends are inevitably amazing looking and cool themselves. We're all extremely jealous.

Hes not the most academic guy in the world but hey who cares? There are other things in the world! Hes so money and he doesn't even realise it!
[quote]
well i like to think i can do both, and so far have mangaged to successfully complete both. ;p
[quote]
I think so domino, well i was talking to you on the seat at one stage of the night....

transtemp i know somepeople are so lucky and they dont even realise it, they just need to open their eyes.
[quote]
yeah but johnyg, when they do realise it they become one of those arrogant people that worship themselves. its better that they dont realise how fantastic they are.
[quote]
Thats not necesarily true, everyone has to know that they are good at or have something good going for them in their lives, or really what is the point. and if they so choose to love themselves for it, so be them.

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with loving yourself, to an extent. Its just appreciation of self worth...
[quote]
The_Humpy_Dog - gotta love you Smile You are one of those mixed people - you have so much to give both in the practical intelligence and academic intelligence side of things.....

[quote]
Caz - I can agree with you to an extent, but certainly it is true that you have to love yourself before you can love others.....

I always had the opinion that people who were fantastic and knew it were arrogant, yet in the last few months I have known such people that are fantastic people both inside and out *and they know it* but they are some of the MOST down to earth people I have met....

I guess it's a luck of the draw sorta thing - there's the goodies and badies of those who love themselves.....
[quote]
True, exactly my sediments. i just doing feel that there is anything wrong with feeling happy with who you are if that comes down to loving urself so be it. Whats the point of life, if your not ruely happy with who you are.

Ps: i dont agree with the people plastic people i call them who you are sterotising about, they are poos...
[quote]
pss: Im going to learn how to spel one day...sigh...
[quote]
Mid-way through writing this post, biggie dies. POO!

Anyway, Eye Candy, I'm copying that last post... I've never been able to put is as eloquently/succinctly (which big word to use!?) as that.
[quote]
Sarin - the amount of times I've had such a conversation as this, I've perfected my answer! And I've been in the situation too many times too where some people are not willing to give *myself* and some of those beautiful people I have come to know, a chance to show who we really are... and for those that have, they have been more than pleasantly surprised and are some of my best friends.....

Many of them have taught me alot about this whole topic! Smile
[quote]
i agree with sarin.

[quote]

[quote]
Well, I'm definitely an academic type. I've always been a bit of a misfit (tall poppy sydrome at primary school didn't help, IMO)... but I'm a hellof a lot better than I used to be.... and I'm still proud of my pointy-headedness. So nyaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
[quote]
A yes i will c u on wednesday indeedy...miss candy...
[quote]
Yeah, I like to think I have a reasonable amount of both, but really I'm just a fuck, and probably have a hell of a lot of one and not enough of the other.
