I never really took notice of the earlier NY house
& garage scene. Where my background lies is
techno & tech-house stemming from earlier
trance labels.
As time rolls merrily on.. you search for
distinction, an ever constant journey to improve
ourselves and fine tune our tastes.
This is sooo fuckin hard!!
There is alot of choice out there. As I think
Soulman stated - about branding in the
Remember Chelsea thread, we go by what we
already know and like. This safe and good. But,
how many independant labels are out there I
wonder?
And there is good house music coming out of
alot of nations. I am loyal to the Americans
however to a certain degree. Preference shall

Pianos, Xylophones, flutes(MAW's flute mix of
Work), synths, cowbells, the sax(Johnny Fiasco
- Doubledown;Tim Deluxe - We All love sax),
trumpets, guitar licks & riffs(Nigel Hayes - Que
Pasa; Jeno's risque mix), offbeats, stabbed
vocals, catchphrases, etc. etc. etc.
House music is full-time....
there is a time for every style. Just mix it up,
match the basslines, time the breaks, have fun
and don't worry about wether you have those
Subliminal records hiding away 'cos me too.
p.s Mark Burgess is bringing Diz later in the year
for everyone in this forum - you must go to
witness legendary technical ability and
unequivical music. You'll come back to this post
and have many different views to this... the most
intelligent and challenging style of music on
offer!
