like one that makes your car go ...

i notice my engine is a wee bit slow in the mornings and i know i'm about due for a new one ... but i've no idea a) which one to choose, and b) how to put it in ...

now i've recently had a 2 1/2 hour lecture on battery technology from a client Neutral but seriously i am confused between the asian made ones and the nz made ones and the maintenance free ones and with my baby car i don't exactly need to worry about CCAs and stuff ... Laughing

but i did hear horror stories about leaking Philippino batteries, so if anyone can tell me if i can just go to a garage and buy an Exide or Repco and buy a Bosch or whatever ... that'd be great.

Although I did learn to jumpstart a car (not mine) recently ...

yeah anything from the likes of repco will be sweet
your battery may have a number on top. that may be of some help
also you need to suss out the termainals on top. ie how big they are and which way they sit on the battery.

thank you ...

alternatively i could just go to a garage and get them to put in whatever fits? will they try and sell me something i don't need though?

the reality is, regardless of what you've been learning, a battery is a battery. get a brand one and you'll be sweet. and yeah, somewhere there should be a code, that's handy. pop into a garage and get them to test it for you first. Smile

dont buy marshall bateries! i heard horror stories about them
[quote]
apparently the ones that the AA deliver to you are crap too ...

i find it ironic that i know all about battery technology now and yet i still wouldn't know which one to buy ...

marshall are the number 1 brand in Australia, ahead of our client, from what i've seen in the brand tracking research.

and Exide are number 1 here with 45% of the market share Smile

if your wondering what sort of battery to buy, you should look on the top of the battery that you already have. take that to a place like repco and they'll sort it out for ya. there are quite a few different sized batteries, depending on a car size.

may just pay to take your car to repco and get a dude to sort it out for ya.
[quote]
just go buy an Exide Heavy duty if ya want some piece of mind or just an ordinary Exide one and you'll be fine, no need to worry about CCA's and deep cell batteries etc

Cool Smile

Thank you.

Just keep your reciept cause you'll get a six month or one year MANUFACTURER warentee and you need your reciept for it to be valid!

I'd say in the 4 years past, she's found a battery Smile

four years even...

just curious why no one questioned what "i notice my engine is a wee bit slow in the mornings" meant...

Damn you Smiley I was thinking that while I was rereading this thread.. I was gutted to see I'd even posted too.

I reckon that post was spam so I'm calling it so.
