Once you attend a gig there babe, you'll know about it!!
[quote]
Yeah, I'm stickin' with "Cumberland House" - that's the name on the groovy big map of Wellington on the wall of my office at work. Razz

Hmm, I am consdering vividing a smiley onto my arm for the Fevah meet (not going to GC) to distinguish myself. *grin*

It'll probably run and make a mess of my arm by the end of my night ah?

Fevah afterparty @ Santa Fe Gold on Taranaki St, starts 6am.
[quote]
Hey dancingcoyote, I've got a photo of you from Hullabaloo in the HardHouse room.....once I get them scanned, I'll send it to ya.
[quote]
Bliss: Yeah, well we don't have 1.5 million(?) people here in Wgtn so we can hardly afford nicely furnished 'big' venues like Aucks can. GC in Sub9 is gonna be too small I imagine....

darr[e]n: Is that the one that's on mnemonik.com, at "24ct Gold"? Are they the same thing 24ct = santa fe?
[quote]
Yeah definatly going to the after party at Sate Fe...... -I had an email with all the info on it, but accidently deleted it....
Does anyone have the info? I know Andy B will be playing..
[quote]
voiceinsideyou - do you think all the people in ak attend dance parties? of course not. there's still a huge scene in wgtn too. someone should start their own production company and get the ball rolling.
[quote]
im tryen to organise the biggest gathering of black power and mongrel mob to fraternise within the confines of edward street precint to give all you gaycrasher kids shit Smile hehe, that'll teach you to dress like a rainbow vomited all over you Smile

Hehe Danjah...come one we know that u r a closet Gatecrasher and Fevah freak...lol.
Fuck yeah, heaps on this weekend...and don't foreget Sunset to Sunrise up near Point Haswell too! I'm lookin forward to meeting more biggie people @ fevah....c yous there.
[quote]
bliss: Nah, just pointing out that if the same % of people in AK attend dance parties as in Wgtn (simplifying assumption), that's about 4 times as many people attending dance parties in Auckland as Wgtn (assuming Wgtn popn=350k, Auck popn=1.4m, just a guess). Thus there is about 4x the amount of punter $ floating around to be grabbed, so much more money available to build large, high quality dance venues. As in, pro rata - two facilities of equal 'quality', one in AK, one in WN, the AK one could be built 4x as big, with the same effect on the proportion of punter dollars consumed.

Errr, okay, that was awesomely nonsensical. Note the many simplifying assumptions. It was just some crude economics/maths to try and show what I meant. I wasn't hassling Auckland, no way, but trying to pint out that Cumberland is about the best we can do for a large venue, with our population, it's just not economic to have huge venues with a smaller population like Wgtn.

But annnnyyywayyyyy, Fevah this weekend's gonna rock. Fuck the venue, the music and the people are gonna kick ass. Very Happy

Good stuff voice.....are you gonna join us for the meet up bro?
[quote]
Dunno why all you guys don't like Starlight Ballroom/Cumberland House. It's nice in there now (they've finished the furnishings Im told - it was much nicer at the last Fevah than at the first party there. Hopefully there will be a lounge at this one which should make all those lazy people happy Smile

As for the cheesy name - seeing that the venue is far too large and costly to produce JUST for Wellington's dancescene (in comparison with AK where they don't even have purpose built places as big as that - they just use old theatres and crummy racecourses - it is multipurpose. They make far more from running corporate functions/conferences and balls than they do from a pile of munters buying water Smile Hense the cheesy name that can appeal to a multitude of customers.

As for the afterparty - e-flyer can be found here - and its sure to go off as always - so see you all there! And Andy B will indeed be playing a set - he's on early so be sure to get down there quickly after Fevah!

[quote]
welly has more than 350k id say just over 500k i bet im right
[quote]
As I said - I "guessed" and they were simplfying assumptions, it doesn't really matter. But I doubt 500k, anyway.
