bliss: Nah, just pointing out that if the same % of people in AK attend dance parties as in Wgtn (simplifying assumption), that's about 4 times as many people attending dance parties in Auckland as Wgtn (assuming Wgtn popn=350k, Auck popn=1.4m, just a guess). Thus there is about 4x the amount of punter $ floating around to be grabbed, so much more money available to build large, high quality dance venues. As in, pro rata - two facilities of equal 'quality', one in AK, one in WN, the AK one could be built 4x as big, with the same effect on the proportion of punter dollars consumed.
Errr, okay, that was awesomely nonsensical. Note the many simplifying assumptions. It was just some crude economics/maths to try and show what I meant. I wasn't hassling Auckland, no way, but trying to pint out that Cumberland is about the best we can do for a large venue, with our population, it's just not economic to have huge venues with a smaller population like Wgtn.
But annnnyyywayyyyy, Fevah this weekend's gonna rock. Fuck the venue, the music and the people are gonna kick ass.
