I noticed that rappers are now adopting ecstacy into their lyrics in their songs (eg Fat Joe's "What's Love") which kinda makes me wonder whether it'll replace the chronic(marijuana) as a hiphop drug theme.
Kinda like back in early 90's when some artists (Dr. Dre, Snoop, Cypress Hill) adopted and hyped marijuana 2 da max, will the likes of Fat Joe, Ja Rule and Eminem b able to do the same and make e as hyped or as controversial as good ol' mjs... any thoughts?

A lot of hiphop artists in the states go on about it in their lyrics - guess its popular to drop E and do that nasty bizness but IMO hiphop and E don't mix well.. vibe is different...
Yeah it seems to have influenced lots of records over the last few years (4 my people comes to mind), but ultimately I think its not on the hiphop 'vibe', E isnt really a 'thug' kinda drug, though that might change.
Its influence seems to be positive though in terms of production its sparked some interesting stuff..
At one of his shows a while back he told the crowd he was going backstage to drop an ecky, came out five minutes later and swallowed a pill in front of the crowd.
Police later arrested him for promoting drug use, and he said it was just a panadol and he was doing it for show.
Yeah, fully agree with kron. Eminem has his head up his ass. What kind of egotistical, self-centered wanker writes a song about his own die hard fan that goes to such extremes to meet his icon that he is driven to his own death.
There's no denying his lyrical ability though. he can spit rhymes like no one else out there (bar big Pun) and some of his rhymes are outlandishly funny. Though the bottom line is that he is fake.
Oh eiminem is allright, funny story though. me and my amte had a house party, this loser of a guy who is like 22 or something comes -uninvited of course [we 17 so it was kinda sad for him to be at a high school party] anyway all the cd's are near the stereo the idiot nicks eiminem and nas but leaves behind all the wicked shit: dilated peoples, busta rhymes, blackalicous, dj clue and all the nz hip hop etc. Weirdo eh? they should have schools for people who nick stuff so they learn to take decent things!
anyway yea I reckon E is replacin the Maijuana cos you know how in like some songs beat nuts etc they not only mention pot but you can hear them exhalin it as well? yeah well in all Ja Rule's new stuff you can hear him swallowing and stuff. moods for thought
