The time is almost nigh, I'm still biding my time, but it's coming... oh yes, it's coming! It's getting more and more airplay on traditionally 4/4 dudes radio shows, there more talk about it, less angry faces when I play breaks in clubs ( Razz ), production levels soaring and some talented dudes coming out of the woodwork...

Need further proof?

Global Underground releases a Plump DJs compilation next week Wink

I am very much looking forward to tonight at Fu, should be a good indicator of where things currently sit within the breaks arena.

Big call.

We will see.

I don't think it's time to dust off Marine Parade collection just yet.

Ah but see, watch the cycles. Trance is hitting the big time again which means breaks is not far behind. With that in mind, tis probably the perfect time to dust off the Marine Parades, the Finger Lickins, the Mob Records, because it pays to be ahead of the curve Wink

some nice breaks tunes out at the moment.
Loops of Fury mixes.
Elite Force and MK the believe mix series is a killer
Dopamine's remix is my current fav.

All the usual suspects are releasing some nice tracks....altho according to all the sources overseas techno/electro is what sells online.

I would suggest that a lot of the big names produce electro flavored breaks to get round this.

Thats what they used to do, most of them these days are making straight electro Razz

A lot of the old guard (not all of them thankfully) have moved on and theres a bunch of new dudes emerging that are taking over the sound. Guys like Aeron Aether, Beta, Flack.Su, the Phat Riderz and heaps more have been on fire.

Aeron Aether would have to be my top pick, mega-talented and makes the prog-breaks sound I love so much. Beta deserves an honourable mention too...

Yah, some proper old school dudes in thurr!!

Who are your top picks for up and comers/new dudes?
[quote]
here's a bunch though that I've been digging recently -
Quadrat. Retroid. Left/Right. etc.

Oddly enough, I think there's a massive switch-over underway. A lot of breaks -> house - yeah - sort of old news, but I'm starting to get surprised by how house producers are starting to integrate breaks more and more.

Kolour recordings, which is a big house/deep-house label just put a release out, which funnily enough, they deemed it as "house" - and beatport classified it as breaks and it's made it into the top 100 breaks chart! (Gene Siewing - Promise Land [Kolour])
