Anyone in the VoIP business? What hardware phones do you use?

We've been using Yealink for a while due mainly to form, their being customizable, function, price, and the reliability of supply but recently their phones have a few too many little issues* for me to be fucked with. We've also used Cisco, Linksys, and Aastra but all of them have their own issues in addition to being more expensive, so thought I might just put it to the group to discuss.

*In case anyone is interested the kinds of issues I am talking about is gradual accumulated slowdown with phones using DSS consoles, and the inability to use multiple forwarding destinations from buttons on the phone. Generally these wouldn't be a problem, but with one particular customer both issues have reasonable repercussions hence my wondering about alternatives that aren't any of the above Razz

Cisco, Linksys and Alcatel are the only common ones I've seen in the wild. While the Cisco and Alcatel stuff is more expensive, their commonality and support usually warrant that extra spend in my opinion. All that little shit that plagues you on the cheaper gear tends to be a much more known quantity on brands like them.

Haven't come across the Alcatel ones personally but the Linksys and Cisco both have similar core function restrictions as I mentioned on the Yealink ones... Basic dumb shit like issues with proprietary headsets and the inability to auto-answer iirc, but might see if I can find some Alcatels to have a tutu with; cheers Smile
