Visa question - Over 32 what visa can I apply for

Hey guys, me and the boy are looking at making the move over to london next year. I can qualify for ancestry or tier 1 but my partner can't, he is over 32 and has only trade qualifications as a chef. Do you know of any visa's that we might be able to apply for? Not really keen on a shotgun wedding so any advice would be appreciated.

A de facto visa if you've been living together for more than 2 years and have joint accounts etc.

We don't have joint accounts and wouldn't have been living together more than 2 years, be more like 1.5 or so, I thought about this one and then realised we don't meet the criteria.
