Hey all,
I have been sent some dvds that were originally taken from a blu-ray disc, and its been spread across four dvds. Now, the files ext is .mov, the audio plays back fine (using vlc) but the video is jerky.
Ive tried copying the file off the disc but I get the same problem. Is this a problem on my end or the end of the sender (as in how its been converted?) Each file is approx 1.4gb, I need to upload this asap so any help would be really cool.

Hard to say without trying the video on another machine to see if it skips there too. Could be as simple as your machine doesn't have the grunt to run 1080p footage. Could be a fucked up encode. Trying it on another machine you know plays 1080p fine is the only way.

Cheers Kris, the orig was an hour long quicktime file that has been converted to mov. Will this make it stutter? Ive played it on two systems, one of which will play 1080 and it stutters on both.

mov IS quicktime. does sound to me like the encode is wonky.
