Am returning to NZ and have an iPhone from the UK, locked to O2. If I get it unlocked what are the downsides when I get back to NZ, can I get around these?

Someone told me it won't sync to itunes??

Everything will work fine.

Is it 3G or 2G? Not that it matters they both work fine ...

! could you buy 2 of them for that price? Why would you sign up for a contract with those conditions.

Are you fucking serious?

I will never complain about the conditions for contracts here in NZ, if that is the case. Shocked

Its an 18 month contract at £45 a month, I always thought I'd be here that long but the job market is shite, I haven't worked since early Feb, so have to come home.

This is very standard for the UK.

Yeah, it's standard across most contract-based services. Phone, internet, Sky TV, etc.

The contract's early termination fee = whatever you have remaining to pay on the contract.

Why don’t you just skip the country? You wouldn’t be the first.

Though I wonder if they would lock out your phone as stolen, as a result.

You could also make them an offer to pay a fraction immediately and close the account…try some negotiation skills. This is a recession after all and companies would rather you do this than default on your contract.

These are my next 2 options.
