Unity

Perhaps I was sorely misinformed, but I thought Unity was gonna be a house gig.
Instead what I got was mostly a LOT of heat! And some fairly progressive sets in most of the rooms. Even when KOT dropped Finally, a house classic, it was remixed to be harder than I would like.
Still, gladly I found Soul Soundsystem playing an epic set, and danced pretty much the whole night away in there!

It was a shocker! How disappointing. Judging by the crowds, sweat, glowsticks and all I'm not sure I didn't go to Chemistry by accident.

Worst dance party I have ever been to. Friends of mine walked in, saw the venue and it's crowd and walked straight out again - spending the night at WBC instead....definitely what I should have done! I can't believe what a waste of time it was, definitely a huge SHOCKER - what the hell was Tim Phinn thinking?? Severly disappointed and you won't catch us at another UNITY again that's for sure.

I think there was maybe a contradiction in that those who actually really wanted to see Kings of Tomorrow would have preferred a smaller more intimate gig the majority of the people there may have gone with or without Kings of Tomorrow playing (or is that really judgemental to say that?) Promoter faced problem of satisfy small crowd or make lotsa cash?

I agree, smaller venue would have been perfect. But you are right, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE $$$$. I'm thinking of starting a movement to ban glowsticks throughout NZ as well

Yeah, what's with the guy walking round with a box full of glowing jewellery, selling it to punters on the dance floor.

It's as bad as those hard-ups going from bar to bar selling roses to "the lovely lady" (... yes, I used to hang out in "those" bars).

Ha! I saw that guy with the glowing jewellery!! Thought I might have been seeing things! Thank goodness it wasn't just me.

Had a wee giggle to myself over that - how the hell did he get let in?

Sour grapes I say if you have no-one to buy a rose for (or a glowsick) of course you would find these people annoying!

personally, my easter s ruined. not impress with the boiler room situation, wanted to go to calibre, unfortunately le thing kick in, i suffered the consequences in the boiler room, drained big time. definitely small venue. KOT=awesome; UNITY=awful. will think thrice if i ever go to another re:mix event.

nah bobdole, the music was wikkid even Havoc had a trainwreckless set which sort of shows how up for it the djs were.

the sounds were really really stonking hard beats not really alot of vocal house floating around.

& as i've said in other threads Greg Churchill showed his class as per usual & was definately the best dj on the night.

Ok, so whats wrong with me that I loved it, yeah it was hot, but I had a great night, the music was amazing and the venue was terrific! The people that I went with also had the same experience.

Maybe you guys are just expecting too damn much?

House of Downtown were just as brilliant as always
