Just stumbled across this on youtube, have done no research on its credibility. Mostly cos he seems more fun not to, Im kinda bored with being cynical about everything Embarassed

If this is real, how did I miss these news reports?

If the footage is staged, its quite impressive Very Happy

viral ad campaign for new movie...

heh some of that footage is pretty mystifying, but ya gotta wonder why every single UFO video ever seems to be some n00b with a camcorder from 1995. Some of the reports were saying that lights were appearing in the sky for over an hour? Surely that's enough time for someone to at least get some good HD telephoto shots, if not meteorology guys getting involved with more kinds of data..

[quote]
also lololol at that frantic phone call at the end. "It does not appear to be a hoax, instead has an eery truth about it" Laughing

And this 'eery truth' is that the government knows about a plan that Aliens have to wipe out some major populated areas on Earth, but aren't doing anything about it because they [the government] want those areas wiped out so that the remaining people will be more easily controlled? Very Happy

"is he back?"

yes, et is calling

I think neil is probably right, it seems quite professionally put together...and the dramatic music is a bit if a giveaway

The cynic in me couldnt resist a bit of digging, turns out its a bit of a compilation of the best UFO footage captured. Some of it has been exposed as fakes or natural conditons or rocket footage....some still unexplained

[quote]
Yeah I couldn't help digging either.. was up until 4am reading about you-foes (the original intended pronunciation) this morning :s

the mathematical odds of a UFO ever finding Earth are pretty disappointing.

really? i mean surely the fact that the universe is never ending.. opens up a whole lot of possibility that there is some sort of life form out there with the capability of finding earth?

huh? The sheer size of the universe makes it likely that there is life somewhere else but makes it incredibly unlikely that they'll ever find us...

only if you project our technological limitations onto them...
[quote]
it's not about technological limits, these are physical limits we're talking about peat.

The universe is very big and very old. There may have already been many many alien civilisations that died out before they developed space flight, or died out before we came about, or ones that have developed space flight and that have already explored 100 billion stars, but not the one which our planet orbits. Many more civilisations might still come, but we might be gone by then.

Also, only 1 species (out of millions) on the planet has ever developed space, and we've only been around 200 000 years. The earth is over 4 billion years old. Sure life what be out there, but only a tiny fraction will ever be capable of comprehending that there might be other planets, and an even tiny fraction might be capable of getting there, and an even tiny fraction still miight be lucky enough to get there are the right time to meet another being somewhat like itself.

technology breaks physical limits though.

Perhaps, but you're comparing theoretical technology that might never exist with the Drake Equation.

Even if the sort of terrestrial scanning technology existed that would allow alien lifeforms to scan solar systems on a galatic scale existed, we would need to be MILES more advanced to be of interest to the creator of such a device and actually worth investigating compared to the other lifeforms they would uncover - many of which would almost certainly be more advanced thus of more interest.

For every piece of theoretical technology you can conceive, I'm sure others could conceive a reason for it not to result in aliens coming to Earth.
[quote]
miles more advanced? Depends on what they're looking for doesn't it

food don't need to be advanced at all, just tasty on the pallet/digestable
anal probing cultures just need arse - we've some billions of virgin botties awaiting
curiosity
etc etc

or we shouldn't make the mistake of even being able to conceive what a alien cultures motivations could be towards us, given our penchant (ignorance) to assume others may have similar motivations to ourselves

in space no one can hear compound interest compounding
