Friends of mine who are very senior in the fishing industry reckon there's probably something there.

But the SFO has made it clear that nobody has managed to provide anything like evidence to start and inquiry - so it is all just rumour and innuendo really

Like he said in the interview they destroyed any evidance that could have proved such activities ... nothing will come from it.

I have fisherpeople friends who say the same thing - but they also reckon there is no evidence

No evidence because of a certain suspicious fire that happened to detroy all the records.

There were certainly a lot of indications there was somethig going on but the only people who know anything are the people who broke the law... and theyre hardly going to give evidence against themselves.

no evidence based on the fact the paper work says one thing the actual catch might have been something else...

sure and then there was the accusation that they were shipping X tones of other catch to the US but claiming it was scampi to up the amount they could claim.

the US agent was involved of course.

Those same friends of mine are even more convinced that Winnie was involved in the coverup. Dozens and dozens of free lunches at Kermadec - owned by Suminovich - over the period of the investigation
