age, type of car, their prejudice against young people.
i'm guessing refusal based on age contravenes the human rights act in this case as other insurers obviously allow it and I'm sure they'll have other cars like mine on their books for older people but I'm also quite sure nothing can be done about it.
Listen to what I said above dude, I've got a $50+k sports car insured with them... I rang them up and they said "ermmm.... no, we wouldn't insuire you with that type of car"
So basically, I went along to my branch and spoke to the manager... I said to them "look, I've had cars with you before of various types, I've never made a claim, I'm a responsible person, in a professional job, the car's stored under lock, key, bolt, chain, camera and big ugly Samoan security guard and this thing is my bloody pride and joy... I'm hardly going to be streetracing it now am I?" So basically in the end they took my persona into account and gave me a pretty competetive package.... I've got a full, comprehensive cover with additional glass and breakdown retreival and it's costing me about 900 per year, with agreed value of about $52k
