Really old-at least 5 years I think.

Has this Darth Vader sample going over and over "I am your father"
One of the Headstrong boys had it at some dance party. Something reminded me of it today.

There's an old Denver McCarthy track off hisMMechanism/ Morningstar CD with the sample, it is fairly breaky, and is probably the first try at d&b in the country...
Or I think the Whinge boys did one with that sample too.
I may have both sitting around, or you could try and contact Mike Weston from Pulse (which Morningstar was released on). Maybe able to help with details on that.

Cheers for that, Crucial, will have a sift around Smile

hey crucial.
do you know who dj zank is, real name?

doesnt the Denver McCarthy one say "the power of the dark side" over and over. hmm actually I might be thinking of Laurent Garnier. I better dust off Mechanism and have a listen.

We have the Laurent Garnier classics CD here if you want to swing by for a listen some stage, can't remember if it's on there or not... DJ Zank??
That's all I know, he's recorded for a lot of labels, Superbra, Subvoice, U7, Housedust. But no other info on the records unfortunatly. Probably could find out if you want to do some stalking when you're in Japan... Wink

obsure dj types...., well thanks anyway.

Yeah, part of the subvoice/housedust crew I guess...

ahoy, cricky thats a whinge tune! Old school.
Its not Denvers/mechanism, his one has the "dark side" vocal....Our one had "obi-1 never told you what happened to your father, father father."
I'm sure i've got the original on DAT somewhere...I remember denver played it at the headstrong gig in Hamilton many aeons ago...was thinking about using it as a secret track on some forthcoming release...would certainly be a laugh.
Or maybe not.
