Tube Gripes...

*people with smelly breath....I don't enjoy it when I'm squashed up close face to face with someone who forgot to brush their teeth and I have no where else to turn! Eww.
*same goes for people with bad BO and sweaty people
*people with too much perfume...I've even had an athsma attack on a tube because someone decided to have a bath in their perfume.
*people who blatently stare
*drunk football hooligans who insist on singing *insertfootballsonghere* at the top of their lungs...
*people who obviously cant fit in the tube at rush hour...but push their way in anyway almost knocking over other people
*people who dont get out of the way when you are trying to get off the tube...so you almost miss you stop...grrrr...
*Couples who dont just kiss....but full on molest each other in front of you.

you forgot the people that stop in the entry way to the station at rush hour to have a full on convo with someone they havn't seen for years and talk a load of crap
all part of the joy of living here

Actually...I'd liken the tube passengers to crazed animals....I've been pushed over whilst trying to get off the tube....this group of people just stampeded over me.

I was on the tube once and this guy got up to get off and elbowed this really pretty girl in the face! he didnt even stop to say 'sorry about that' he just hurried off leaving her holding the side of her face!

I did the nice guy thing and asked if she was ok and she took me out for a coffee!

This morning I was on the Victoria line...standing near the door. When the tube stopped I politely stepped off (even though it wasnt my stop) to let the people behind me get off. When I tried to get back on, a crowd of people standing behind me stampeded past me so I couldnt get back on. I'm investing in a water pistol I think to shoot the bastards!! I had to wait like 10mins before I could get on another tube 'cos they were all so full! Man, I gotta get a job close to home!

I had the same kind of thing happen to me. Was on the overland at Clapham Junction last year and this guy tried to push his way on when there was no spare room at all! I said to him quite politely that there was no point in trying to squash in 'cos he wasnt gonna fit and he had a big go at me! Loser. I dont think he expected it but I started yelling back at him (had the whole tube on my side too!). He sqeezed in anyway and we had a go at each other until 2 stops later.

The italians and french were worse tho.

That bloody annoying organ and violin music on the trains!

haha, i used to love the buskers on the metro in paris. a full on band would jump on, then at the next stop they'd jump out and run to the next carriage, lol

...and lets not forget the people who stand on the escelators in the middle, in your way when your trying to get past... These people get the elbow! haha

Losers choosing their new annoying ring tone when it's dead quiet, and they think they have to listen to every option right to the end!

train system here just got all fucked up. They changed the safety rules and now up to 80% of them run late. They're short on drivers and have to crash-train (ok bad pun) new drivers.

Got so bad the govt is giving out free tickets etc.

Most people dont talk on the trains (i guess theyre traveling alone) so when i was in london with friends and we were reminicing some funny stories on the train the guy sitting in the middle of us was trying not to laugh (rude to listen in etc) we kept on going and in the end he he burst out laughing apoligied and got off the train.

Not really a gripe but some light hearted convo on a long ride is a good way to pass the time, seems you have to be munted in england to do that.

People who play games on their mobile and dont turn the sound off!

I think to sum it up, its people who are too fat, smell, who are drunk and roudy, who stare at you, cough/sneeze without covering their nose, fart, and play games on their mobiles with the sound up AND choosing a new ring tone, who walk slowly, stand in everyones way and wipe thier black snot on walls that get under my skin the most! (phew!)

Aah, tube antics. How I miss them - NOT. Just a nice 30 minute stroll along the redevloped Birmingham docks for me...such a peaceful walk, really makes you bright and clear for the day ahead.

People that read over your shoulder

Tokyo trains and subways are a crack up

Between 7-9am and 10pm-12am they are jam packed and have no standing space. They actually employ people to push in the passengers. I'm sure this cant be legal!!!

In the morings you'd think people were going to a funeral.

-no one talks
-absolutely no cell phones are used
-people just stand in absolute silence

But at night people are usually drunk and talking on their phones and to people. Sometimes Jap businessmen are making unwanted passes at women but this is never a probl;em

The dirty, filthy Bakerloo line

I'm so sick of hearing over the intercom on my way home:

"Sorry for the delay, but we have an incident at the next station, just waiting for the train in front to depart"

"Sorry people but this train will now terminate at the next stop" (no reason given)

and my favourite from the other day:

"Sorry for the hold up, but we have a drunk person at the next station that wont get off the train"

Every day I see or hear something dodgy on that line, whether it's seeing the police every day just inside the Kilburn Park tube station (my stop), or being accosted by drunk wino's at 5.00pm asking for change and then freaking out that they will throw you in front of the train as it comes into the station for saying no, to people hoiking their loogies and missing you by inches.

Couple of weeks ago our train stopped at Stratfield (Syd) and we
waited for 15 minutes before the guard announced that there had
been a fatality ahead.

Eventually we slowly started to crawl along before it was announced:

" It is advised that you might not want to look out the left side of the
train".

So naturally everyone starts looking out the left side, myself included,
though i very much regretted that decision. The body must have been
in about 20 pieces scattered over the tracks. Instantly realise your mortality when you see something like that, put me in a very sombre mood.

Well at least they announced not to look, just in case you did and then laid complaints for not warning you.

Thats fucking grisly! Didn't see that on the news. Citirail Sydney is fucked at the moment, although it has improved a bit in recent weeks.
