Tracing the real source of a virus infected email

Can it be easily done?

I'm getting 5-10 a day to one of my accounts and it's quite irritating!

most email virus's tend to have there own smtp engine so they are quite hard to track, by pretty hard i mean near impossible

You can trace the server it first came from but all that is going to give you is the isp.

If you view message headers you will get the origin IP of the message

Email Headers 101.

Submit that to your ISP and they will do... fuck all

unless you know someone who works for the ISP...

Forward the messages with headers onto me at work... I'll try work it out for you on monday when I get back to work
