Altho the news is a few days old I thought it worth a mention... How does Toyota's team plan to improve their lot by firing one of the most sought-after technical men in F1?

Something fishy has happened there for sure. It wouldn't have gone down this quick otherwise.

Midlands have also fired thier guy.. they decided their catering company could do a better job... and they're probably right.

With one of the strongest and reliable engines in F1 perhaps they thought he has not acheived enough for them in the time he has been there.

There are also a lot of people who feel he is not worthy of his status let alone his paycheck.

Yet, calculated into points his influence for a team is more than Kimi Raikkonen (sp?), Jenson Button and many more people in F1. Sure he's not come up with the winner yet but, compared to the newer teams he's aready well at the top of them with short periods when they're right on the money.

Seems wierd to get rid of someone when you don't have a replacement. If Arian Newey etc was on his way to Toyota I could understand.. but this is very early in the season to drop someone. Race 3!!! And they've already had a podium too.

I don't disagree with you.

I have never had a negative opinion of him really, just know plenty of people that do.

I rated him at Renault even if the car was reportedly twitchy, and at Toyota he does seem to have pulled them up the grid quite a long way. I guess the best way to judge his influence will be Toyota's results next year.

Renault improved further without him, will Toyota move down?

very intersting indeed...when I read this last week I was shocked. No replacement announced too= Fishy

I bet ralf n jarno are spewing although some news reports read that ralf would actually have more chance of winning now mike has left the team.

Weird shit
