spend their money in other areas.

Toyota have proven with all the money and all the technical backup, it can't buy you an F1 crown.

Jordan proved in the 1990s that all you need is the right infrastructure and personnel, coupled with enough financial backing to turn your designs into a solid race performer.

Toyota will never win a world crown with its current philosophy, they need to rethink and get a core team of GOOD people that will remain there for 5 years or more so that they can build up enough of a design synergy that their car will grow into a world champion.

well put indeed, but i don't think dumping that much cash is really a concern. for a start, that includes the entire team setup from scratch, and over how many years is that spend spread as well....


not to mention toyota has in the realms of us$25 billion in cash reserves....
