G Club is back after a mad night that was Krafty kuts with the one and only Kiwi breakbeat legends that are
TIMMY SCHUMACHER & MC KYLA
Timmy remains the pioneer of breakbeat in Aoteroa with 18 years of undying service, smashing clubs and festivals and radio transmitters apart with his fearsome mixing skills and secret artillery of hot tunes. During this time he has played to massive numbers in the Boiler Room at BDO, played support for the Chemical Brothers to 4000 people at North Shore Stadium and rocked it to over 5 thousand sun baked beat freaks on two occasions at the bFM Summer Series. Timmy holds down a residency with bFM and has supported such acts as Adam Freeland, Freq Nasty, Rennie Pilgrem, Freestlyers, Stanton Warriors, Krafty Kuts, Tayo, Breakfastaz, Aquasky and even Moby! To this day, Timmy’s maxim’s remain the same : consistent shows, flowing sets, uncompromising selections and responsive playing for the crowd. Timmy’s productions have received world wide recognition with releases on labels like Aquasky’s PASSENGER Recordings (“What’s Down Lowâ€) and DJ Icey’s ZONE records (“Lay It Downâ€). Timmy’s remix of Agent Alvin’s “On The Rise†out on respected UK label RESIN received enthusiastic plays from such breakbeat cognoscente as DJ Deekline, General Midi, DJ Icey, Ali B, DK (plays on the NINJA TUNES Solid Steel radio show) and the don dada of dubwise breakbeat, Tayo. Forging on with an album under his belt (The Wall of Bass Technique) Timmy has plenty of exciting new material and collaborations in the pipeline with a focus on his imminent debut solo long player.

Kyla’s skills as one of the countries top MC’s are renowned – she can sing, rhyme and is well known for her infectious personality on the mic, breaking the ice with the coldest crowds, leaving them whooping and hollering for more till the house lights come up. In Wellington Kyla holds down residencies with The Bass Frontiers Crew and Club Sandwiches both of which have lead her to MC alongside Pendulum, Concord Dawn, Goldie, Freq Nasty, Bad Company, Stanton Warriors, Digital, Ali B and many more. She has recorded with Agent Alvin, The Nomad, Confucius and Mysterious D, Antiform and her crew, GND. With all this experience under her belt, NZ’s hottest new MC star is an expert at getting the party started, and keeping it rocking, emanating positive vibes and throwing down with rough rhymes and slick vocals.

Timmy and Kyla combine forces for an onslaught of rolling rhymes and heavy, heavy tunes the likes of which have stolen the show at many gigs - most noticeably the bFM SUMMER SERIES to a crowd of thousands and massive new years party PHAT 07 where they packed out the second zone and kept the heaving crowd locked in for the duration.

Keep your ears peeled for many upcoming releases from Timmy Schumacher and MC Kyla, the first of which, “Who Wants Some†is featured on Aquasky’s “This Way Up†compilation out now on PASSENGER records with mixing duties performed by the legendary DJ Friction.
