After hearing Rob W's Two Tribes mix, I felt a bit of Deep Dish stylie is the theme for the day.

Chocolate City
"Love Songs"

http://fizy.com/s/15nf7i

Possibly one of the ultimate late night sax house tunes, with some of the best hi hat/percussion programming Ive heard. Simple but busy, less is more, bubbling warbling bass, and a percussive synth stab loop in the background that makes you wanna clap your hands.
The link is for the "Like House for Chocolate" mix, but for me it's the "Demo" mix that does the damage.
Well done Ali Shirazinia & Sharam Tayebi, well done indeed. Music

Caution!! Today's tune requires a back brace to lift!

X-press 2
"AC/DC" (Gangbanger mix)
(Skint)
http://fizy.com/s/18g337

The peak (IMO) of Ashley Beedle, DJ Diesel (Darren Beale) and DJ Rocky (Darren Rock)(well within X-Press 2), with percussion and a lead that sounded H-U-G-E! on a good club system. (Smoke Machine for a close second for big system gear) Music

Was gonna say... what about BSO 'Altered States' EP or 'Save Us'?

But then again, even as XP2 what about 'Muzik Xpress', 'London X-Press', 'Rock 2 House'?.... even 'The Sound' and 'Tranz Euro Xpress' were big moments for them in many ways. Would have thought they were all bigger tunes than AC/DC.

I dig the Norman Cook mix. The drum pattern/fill just before the drop is killer. Music

Been away for a few days working (actual physical work, not sitting at home writing music work) with a guy who thinks house is for gay people, and felt the need to "educate" me by listening to the Rock non-stop for three days. (He forgets Ive been a drummer in metal bands for 15 years?!?! go figure).
So as a result I felt the need to post this one today in response to being subjected to bullshit generic rock.

You should be verbally abused by bogans more often - that's the first decent tune you've offered up in a long time. Froggy

I'm gonna pre-emp Thursday too! Razz

Before they'd matured enough to make really, really crap music the Aussie's used to made some crackers... especially this guy, HMC from Adelaide.

If you went to the Box in 96-97 Greg would surely have caved your head in during the early hours with this a few times.

That sounds like a good challenge for this Thursday: post some good, credible Aussie house.

i have a tune for you all. its not the newest, but imho, it is fantastic. unfortunately, i cant access certain sites from school so imma give you a bit of a rundown.

headland - darkwood.

headland is dave basek and phil smart. this tune was developed in their studio in byron bay and its taken off the album "lighthouse" (junkbeats) which is all original australian house and is mixed by phil smart.

not sure if you guys have heard of junkbeats? they are an aussie collective and they make beautiful house music. they have cats like kriece, jimi polar, nomadik nativ and ed function.

fail at the ability to be finding links for yous, but fully endorse this tune. Music

Kriece has made dozens of really good records. A couple he did with Jeff Bennett a while back were totally awesome. Was hoping the Aussie prog sound would take that path but the white-noise prog brigade in Melb ruined that.

Ha ha. HMC: bridging the gap between ealy trance and big-room techno since 1992. He made some big tunes huh!

yeah, aye! all the junkbeats boys are amazing.

i was lucky enough to go stay with phil and dave at their byron bay pad. 4 days of sun, beach, vodka and listening to all their production work. watching those two work in the studio is nothing but a pleasure.

if you dont have the lighthouse album, i sincerely recommend it. its still one of my favourites. Music Music Music

Is Mic Newman in Melbourne? I've been thrashing his 'Troubled City' tune on Kiss for a few weeks and I loves it! I want to get him into the studio for a chinwag Razz

His remix of 'Town Of Sorrow' was well cool. He nailed the vibe perfectly...
