things you are following in the media at the moment?

I know I will be keeping my eye on the Housing NZ case

saw this article in the papers on the weekend:

the basic run down is that a gang were operating a P-lab out of a state house and HCNZ are now suing to recover the costs of having the house demolished

I will be watching this one with interest as it will be nice to see a positive outcome in which the criminals are found liable for damages

any thoughts? or any other cases that any one else is keeping an eye on at the moment?

and more on the housing related tip...

the property developments that have been springing up around town lately and which are now being placed in receivership

I will also be watching those with interest to see whether anyone picks them up to carry them on or if we end up looking a little bit like Bangkok, which is dotted with abandoned buildings that are now just sitting there and rotting away

shouldn't be too hard finding liability, getting the money out of these people will be the real issue

I guess there may be an interesting argument about quantum of damages (are demolition costs foreseeable/recoverable)
