so there's an enquiry into the price of milk

wtf?
We live in a capitalist country (as much as I'd like to change that)
in a capitalist country, we don't have price controls

You can't have your cake (lless tax, less government, freedom, vote National) and eat it (oh, we pay too much for x, or for y)

It's simple: the market determines prices. Stop whining unless you are willing to vote for a socialist government

I'd bet 90% of the fucktards crying about milk prices are national supporters, who should embrace the way the market is working
[quote]
Whats worse is the majority of NZ Dairy Farmers are National supporters (in the 80's and 90's), they sold their farms to horse lords, and now they moan about milk prices!!
[quote]
so why is national installing fibre then?
no one really seems to adhere to the original tenets
but more importantly even in relatively capitalist markets (more capitalist than ours) there are still controls such as anti-monopoly trust busting type of stuff.
which is totally relevant to milk production in this country

Anti-monopolism (is that a word) is just socialism in disguise
Sorry but a truly free market allows people to corner it.

A truly free market allows itself to be unfree?

Of course. What rightists don't realise is how stupid and contradictory they are.
[quote]
you're barking mad

a free market is just that - free. for all to enjoy the benefits of. producer and consumer

what the monopolists/trusts want is NOT a free market at all but rather one that they can corner and control

you know like the bad old rekkid come pain knees used to enjoy pre napster et al

command and control - sound familiar?

My Mum used to say "a bit of dirt will never do you any harm"
[quote]
your mum is a wise woman... but some places should be clean - where I buy food from being one of them
[quote]
where you cook should be clean and how you prepare said food should be scrupulous

apart from that you have little control
