Come on guys, let's do The Masty! It's a new trance dance style, don't look at me like that.

Anyhoos, I've found a place down a red light alley where I am gonna have a choice of 5 different games to watch tonight blower

Gonna try to catch:

Us and Rovers of course, Chelsea and Bolton of course, Newcastle and Stoke would be quite interesting (gwarn you dirty Magpie bastards!), and Sunderland and Man Utd would be interesting too.

Thinking about it Wigan and Arsenal would be good to see too if only to see if Arsenal are gonna keep up their standard Smile

Everton and Villa will be a decent watch tomorrow I'd say and Spurs and the Hammers on Monday will be decent too.

Woot the next three days being spent in pubs in red light district of Bangkok! blower
[quote]
big 4 all won

United had 81% possession against Sunderland, still we only scored in injury time, 2 points gained from our POV, Sunderland would feel hard done by, 1 point lost.

Arsenal were pretty ordinary against Wigan and won by same margin

Chelsea and Liverpool still strong on the road.

Consistency is the key
[quote]
I hate 3pm kick offs on Saturdays... Why? Because some strangelaw about football pools that's probably about 100 years old means no 3pm Saturday games get shown on any channel in England. Oh well at least I got to watch Barca go 3 points clear after smashing second placed Valencia 4-0, and the super classico is next week!
[quote]
you don't have Sky Sports?

Barca very impressive against Valencia, hat trick for Henry Music
[quote]
Liverpool game was excellent! I was the only person on the street watching it and was running inside every stoppage to keep an eye on the Arsenal game. Was such a relief when we got the first and even though I was cursing him most of the game it was good to see Benayoun get one too. When they scored I got a bit nervy but seeing Stevie seal it was beautiful Very Happy

Man Utd vs Sunderland was a great watch. Me and an Arsenal owner of a girlie bar I had met that night ended up keeping his place open for an hour or so after it was meant to close and we were both gutted that them Black Cats didn't quite make it Music

Pissed I missed Everton v Villa tho; sounded like a stomper!

Gonna miss half the CL games as I'll be flying home on Wednesday which (if I understand the time differences correctly) will have me in the air for the second days worth but should get to at least see the most of the important teams play... :>

mintgamecube said:

Yes I have Sky but as I said 3pm Saturday games are not televised live anywhere in England.

Villa-Everton was fucking insane, Ashley Young's winner after Lescott's late equaliser was unbelievable.

So, not too many exciting looking games there for my money. City and Everton could be an interesting one and United against Spurs (you beat this season so make sure you do those bastards too please :>Wink should be good too but really it's only Liverpool v Arsenal beaters Hull that is the stand out for me this weekend Smile
[quote]
Ruh-farkiiiing-hude! 70% possession and something like 12 shots on target to their 3 but they still manage the draw at Anfield.

Jamie's OG was the stuff of nightmares; such an easy flat ball but must have had a fuck ton of spin to go back into our net from that angle Sad

Come on you Spur bastards and you dirty Hammers, help us hold the top! Laughing blower
[quote]
fuck i dunno how im still up without the help of chemicals or alcohol. but after watching that game i just want to curl up in a corner.. why the fuck do we keep letting these fucking teams steal points from anfield. its fucking annoying!!

end rant Froggy
[quote]
even Rafa has said the other day they need their rivals to drop points for them to have any chance to win the title, give it up already!

and 2-2 against Hull? I know ours 4-3 win was just as laughable, this?

Laughing

Arsenal's 1-1 against Boro, their title ambition are probably gone as well.

Spurs v United now, should be a great game! Music
[quote]
We seem to have scored a lot of own goals so far this season which really isn't helping things and more importantly I think Torres must be close to having missed more than he's played so far this season. Add to that poor ol' Robbie not managing to find the net and you can see why we're only just holding on to the top spot.

Still, if the other teams are going to play badly and we happen to remain at the top it ain't our fault Wink

Good result at White Hart Lane, so now all I can say is COME ON WESTHAM!!! blower
[quote]
JC must be leading the golden boot for own goals, lol.

I agree, come on Hammers!
[quote]
Yup, he's got three so far by my count and we're only half way through Razz
[quote]
Hahah, howtf is that?! This season is crazy, so many results that you would have expected to be spankings are ending up as draws or upsets; quite brilliant (even if it is causing us as much heartache as everyone else) Music
[quote]
so the top 4 all drew

time for each of them to stop looking at other results while they're playing their fixture!
[quote]
GAme of the weekend had to be el classico at the Nou Camp, where Barca prevailed 2-0 with two late goals after missing a penalty and Real looking like they might nseak a point. Fortunately Eto'o attoned for his earlier penelty by socring a poachers goal in the last 10 minutes before Messi sealed in in injury time. Was just what Messi deserved after he spent the game being kicked everytime he got the ball - it was disgraceful literally everytime he got a ball a different Madrid player kicked him to spread the bookings round. Fortunately Messi's class showed and he got the last laugh. 6 points clear and Barca have beaten now beaten 3 title rivals convincingly in the last three weeks (Sevilla and Valencia being the other two - and Barca thrashed them).
[quote]
Barca win was good Smile i felt sorry for messi being kicked and taken out everytime he got the ball it was terrible to see.

Game of thew weekend for me was the Juve-milan Smile 4-2 to juve a very good game up until zambrotta got sent off for a stupid tackle in which he shoudln't of done.

Great weekend overall
[quote]
El Classico was a classic if you're a Barca fan

What about Juve's 4-2 win over Milan?

United off to Japan for WCC
[quote]
WCC has been a pretty good game from what I've seen so far but with the height and strength advantage they've got the two corners Man Utd have had have both been converted instantly though with very well struck headers.

Come on, other team! Big second half, send 'em packing!! blower Laughing
[quote]
Now THAT'S a second half!! Choice!! blower
[quote]
you didn't stay up and watch the game like me Tony?

Great game, even for the neutral.

The scoreline is a bit more respectable, Gamba Osaka really are a decent outfit.

United just had too much class

Rooney came on for a few minutes and knock in goals for fun, great to see Fletcher scoring off his head as well.

Ronaldo is obviously grabbing all the attention.

With Real also claiming they have agreed to sign him, GTFO, if Fergie has a gun right now he'd be firing at the Bernabeu Mad
[quote]
Yeah man, Felix and I had both planned to but I ended up missing most of the first half and he missed most of the second but I caught it. Problem was that after staying up to see it I wasn't able to get to sleep until about 5am :/
[quote]
bloody hell, and you have to work today as well?

I thought me having 2 nights of less than 6 hours sleep is bad enough

I have today off that's why I actually stayed up to watch it, I almost fell asleep in second half until that crazy 18 minute spell when there's goals flying in every angle then.

Hope you'll get a good cafferine fix today Very Happy
[quote]
I'm being made redundant in about 2 weeks so I'm on a go slow at present; this week I've done precisely 1 hours worth of work Laughing
[quote]
Hurry up footy!!
[quote]
sorry to hear about your redundency :C

will you find a job soon or you're just gonna sit at home watching football and playing FIFA?

Darn I have work tomorrow otherwise would stay up and watch the United game, but I'm definitely getting up and watch the Arsenal Liverpool game, that means early night sleep for me.

[quote]
Oh I'm gon' be trying to blag some part time work after the holidays then going to uni but I daresay I should be able to get some Fifas and watch some footy in between now and March Laughing
[quote]
1-0 to the United!

We're officially world champions!

more to follow soon.

Rooney's striker enough to win it! Music
[quote]
RVP bloody hell, awesome chest control, pin point long pass from Nasri and the brilliant dutchman turns Carragher in a flash and tocketed past Reina who knew nothing about the shot

wow!

Great finish!

almost half time now.
[quote]
Robbie Keane, who has been booed by Arsenal fans throughout the game equalised in some fashion, a nothing presence in the game, he raced onto a great long ball by Arbeloa, and lashed the running ball into the roof of the net, no chance for Almunia, great first half, not the result, come on Gunners!
[quote]
Crazy game! Watched it live. Dead now. Sad
[quote]
Yup RvP goal was tight as fuck as was Nasri's pass; perfect weight and the little turn van Persie did was excellent and the pace on it was fucking fierce.

Robbie was hardly 'a nothing presence'; he was all over the field and he sank a fucking tasty shot after an excellently timed run. If you had have actually watched the game you would've seen him chasing after every ball that came near him and COULDN'T have come up with a call like that minty. Don't trust everything you read on arseblog Razz

The Fabregas injury is really shit as he had played well and the tackle was definitely nothing malicious on Xabi's part. Hopefully it's not as bad as it sounds.

Adebayor's sending off was soft but was deserved also I think. You could clearly see the elbow connect from the angles I saw and while it wasn't enough to knock Arbeloa off his feet it was still an elbow to the face. He knew he was on a yellow and was stupid to play that way.

As usual Kuyt was a demon in both defence and attack and the shot he took as well as the one he floated just too fast for Stevie were epic.

Wish Rafa had've pulled Lucas earlier in favour of a more attacking option. Good to see El Zhar and Ngog on again though even if it did seem too late.

Also beginning to wonder about Babel as he just doesn't seem to be able to play as part of a team and seems to be fighting so hard for a more regular spot that he takes stupid chances and wastes 'em.

Another good game from Jamie and if you8 watch that RvP goal you'll see his foot was all of two inches away from stopping it; if only!! Music

Fair result in the end and props for holding out AND managing to look dangerous with a man down.
[quote]
Adebayor's sending off is a joke, no wonder fefe is so angry too he's not posting

Arbeloa exagerrated and got him sent off, referee Howard Webb definitely had that one wrong.

Arsenal were playing their defensive line too high up the pitch so it got backfired when Keane scored, quite a goal too!

fair result, but will Arsenal actually win with 11 men on the pitch, not so sure, given their inconsistency, probably won't happen.

Now I'm ready for Everton v Chelsea, come on Toffees!
[quote]
Yeah fully agree minty, there was slight contact between Adebayor's elbow and Arbeloa's forehead, but it was at best a graze and Arbeloa went down like he had been shot. You can see it when it's slowed down, the head and elbow slightly touched, Arbeloa paused, thought about it, realised an elbow had just touched his head then leapt away clutching his forehead... The hardest part of his body? Arbeloa desvered to be booked for blatant simulation, not Adebayor, what makes it worse is that Adebayor got his first yellow for a foul on Arbeloa so he knew full well that he was on a yellow. Complete joke, all Adebayor did was shield the ball, he did not use his elbow in a menacing way, it didn't move, to be a foul Adebayor would have to strike with his elbow which he clearly did not do. Shame the pussy FA won't do anything about it because it was atrocious play acting.

From then on though Liverpool played like pussies and completely bottled it. Faced with an Arsenal side with 10 men and no talisman, they decided a draw would do? LOSERS!!! Brace teams win the league, pussies don't. They threw on another striker with no time left which was laughable, and basically played 10x worse against 11 than they did against 10. I can't see how any Liverpool fan can be happy with that game, if Chelsea win tonight at Everton (they are 100% on the road) they will go top, so Liverpool should have gone for it, and they didn't they did the opposite in fact. Only a single Agger effort to show for 30 minutes against 10 men...

Have to praise Arsenal's response though, they deserved to win for the way they responded. Sure they didn't manage any good chances after the send off but they tackled with a physicality and scrappiness I have not seen from them for a long time. When Liverpool had the ball it looked like they had 10 men not Arsenal.

But yeah, 2 points lost for Liverpool who utterly bottled it and these last few weeks have cast serious doubts over their title creditials. You can bet your ass that United or Chelsea would not have been so impotent against a 10 man Arsenal who lacked leadership after losing Fabregas at half time.

Did you see the part where Riera elbowed RVP in the face before a corner? He didn't act like he'd been shot, he even stayed on his feet.
[quote]
Was Riera on a yellow and had RvP had his shin raked on the way in?

That's the difference imo. You see it all the time. Two individual 'injuries' in football almost always leads to a fall. But it just so happens that this time Ade had a yellow. Stupid play on his part.

In other more interesting news LIVERPOOL GO INTO XMAS WITH THE LEAD!!! blower Santa

Can't believe Everton couldn't capitalize though with their captain sent off! What faggots/bottlers/pussies! Eh guys? Eh? Coz that's what you do when a team's a man down as it's so simple eh?

TtheHF said:

well one foot by my view, and the ball was running away from him, definitely no intent, no a red card, another debateable decision, I'd give a yellow, not red.

Terry even checked Osman when he was down, it was an ugly tackle, it was just mis-timed.

So I think the officials have got it wrong again.

Everton had the ball at the back of the net but was ruled offside or foul on Cech?

Gutted, I was jumping up celebrating their goal only for the goal to not stand Rolling Eyes
[quote]

anyway I think Pool's inability to push for a win when they have one more player will backfire at the end of the season because it really should be theirs for the taking, and to be honest, Arsenal played better with 10 men against the 11 dirty scousers Froggy

me as a United supporter couldn't be happier to see 3 of the top 4 all draw again for the second week running, ad we haven't kicked a ball yet and with 2 games in hand, hopefully we'll be able to capitalise

Sad Cesc Sad
[quote]
Cesc missing is fucked. Sad thing for me is that it wasn't malicious either but simple bad timing off a fair tackle...

ps. Just to fan the flames of old comments Robbie didn't deserve that yellow he had clearly hit the ball in that tackle and his second foot wasn't involved at all. And this with a touch judge right there.
[quote]
Just investigating something here...

And I reckon Man Utd are gonna drop behind the pack.

Stoke at home is gonna be a difficult one as, even though their form has been a bit shit lately, they've been really strong at home. Chelsea managed to get them but I don't think you guys have the kind of power to handle their backs.
Middlesborough you should be able to get past at home but then you have Chelsea and if Big Phil plays them in a decent attacking formation that'll be your lot gone for the season.

Two draws on the scoreboard is often better than two games in hand Music

he was tackled by his fellow countryman Xabi Alonso, so definitely with no intent, Cesc just came out second best

I agree with Robbie's yellow, again shouldn't be a yellow, he's going for the ball and he got the ball, Tony got this right, the ref, again didn't, it just looks bad as he was in behind on Clichy.

and I have no idea wtf you're on about about Stoke with Man U, their only weapon is Rory Delap, nothing else in them, the only concern for the Red Devils is that they might suffer from jet lags.

LOL! Wau to miss the point. Everton attacked hard and almost won it against opposition that are way ahead of them in terms of quality. It's nothing to do with the result, it's the intent. Everton smelt blood and went for the 3 points against superior opposition, they should be commended, Liverpool did the opposite thus I slated them for it. If Liverpool had been brave and gone for the win and still ended up with the draw I still would have commended them for trying.

I think what will hurt United is conjestion, they have games in handbut they are by no means done deals in terms of points. Especially as it means United will be playing more games mid week which could lead to dropped points. Chelsea would be the favourites as far as I'm concerned, however it would be nice to see Liverpool win to add another name to the trophy, Arsenal would need a miracle, and Villa would need ten miracles.

usual business for the top 3

Gunners again showing they cannot last the whole 90 minutes, they really do have a habit of conceding un-necessary goals in the dying seconds of a match.

watched the Stoke United game, very physical game, Ronaldo is getting kicked everywhere, he and Rooney lucky to not get sent off for striking out or elbowing

Gonna see the highlights soon

heaps of goals for the festive seasons Music

Dirty scousers are 10 ahead of us, but we have 3 games in hand, in saying that, they're not guarantee 3 pointers, look at our fixture lists in Jan and Feb, it's getting quite congested, also with stuff like the league cup and fa cup to worry about, with Inter in the CL, it won't be easy

If we went for everything this year, we could have won 7 trophies, Community Shield (which we won by beating Pompy), UEFA Super Cup (we lost to Zenit 2-1), Club World Cup (we beat Liga Deportiva 1-0), so that leaves the 4 major fronts to contest till late May (PL, CL, LC, FAC)

What a massive second half of the season to come, and from history and tradition, United are usually very good at getting points in second half of the season, so don't go celebrate like you won the title you dirty scousers fans Froggy

GERRARD HELD AFTER DJ IS HURT IN BRAWL

The alleged victim of a nightclub brawl for which Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was arrested is a DJ there, police sources confirmed on Monday.

The England midfielder remains in police custody after the 34-year-old Southport man was taken to hospital with facial injuries.

Sources confirmed the man was an employee of the Lounge Inn, in Southport, Merseyside, where the midfielder and five other men were arrested on suspicion of assault in the early hours of Monday.

Gerrard, 28, was at the restaurant and bar - which turns into a nightclub - with friends to celebrate Liverpool's 5-1 victory against Newcastle.

But trouble began and an altercation took place outside the premises in Bold Street.

The town centre premises remained shut on Monday but evidence of a fight inside could be seen through the windows.

Spots of blood were clearly visible on the floor, and shards of broken glass.

A Bentley car, which is believed to have been parked overnight, remained outside the club with a parking ticket attached.

On Monday, Gerrard's wife Alex Curran, 26, left a coffee shop close to the police station where the father of her two children was being questioned.

She refused to answer reporters' questions as she walked to her Bentley car and drove off in the opposite direction from the police station, heading towards Liverpool.

A Liverpool spokesman said the club would not be commenting on their captain's arrest.

A police spokesman said: "Merseyside Police are investigating an assault that took place in the early hours of Monday December 29 on Bold Street in Southport.

"At around 2.30am this morning officers attended a disturbance at a licensed premises on Bold Street.

"Six men were arrested on suspicion of section 20 assault on Lord Street.

"The men, four aged 33, 31, 29 and 19, who all come from the Huyton area, a 28-year-old man from Formby and an 18-year-old man from Litherland remain in police custody.

"A 34-year-old man from Southport was taken to hospital with facial injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Anyone who saw anything or who has any information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 0151 777 3165 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

well again United needed a narrow single goal victory, the amount of chances we had was great, though not finishing up some of them, let alone most of them, have me worried, Ronaldo must be having Real Madrid in his mind, he's not really concentrating what he's doing with the ball, Rooney had to sit quite deep into midfield from his centre forward role to help out and inspire the midfield, Fletcher and Carrick had an ok game, Park again excellent when called upon. Berbatov took his goal well although he was pretty much non-existent before that.long way to go before closing the gap.

We (Man Utd) are going to suffer from fixture congestion at some point this season that's a given, that said, here's a rant I've been reciting quite a lot recently.

The thing to remember is that we have already played away to the rest of the top five plus already taken wins from the other two away games which have caused us trouble in the past (Portsmouth and Shity)

Despite the rough start we are still within touching distance of the top of the table. Now's the time to see how these pretenders handle a trip to Old Trafford, starting with Chelsea on the 11th (10th our time).

End of the day, if someone said 'beat Liverpool at home and the title's yours' I'd take that each and everytime, Let's see if the Scousers can hold their nerve till March 14.
[quote]
Honestly minty, you couldnt have edited that novel down to just the scorelines without the bullshit and spacing?

Spurs are on thw verge of resigning Defoe and supposedly Arsenal are in talks with Arshavin.

What a massive second half of the season to come, and from history and tradition, United are usually very good at getting points in second half of the season, so don't go celebrate like you won the title you dirty scousers fans Froggy

Of course not, this scouser won't celebrate till Stevie G lifts the trophy (I still remember *that* Michael Thomas goal for the Arse in 1990 that cost us Div 1). Liverpool in recent seasons have also had good second halves, just we been out of the race by this point.

Basically it is game on till season end, each lot fans can show reasons why their team will do it, but I'm starting to believe that this will be the year, YNWA Pink Winky

stalemate at Britannia Stadium

Stevie G hit the post twice, Delap once, Stoke had a goal disallowed for offside, it really could have gone either way, but no one can finish it off.

Liverpool really missed the presence of Xabi Alonso

Wehn I saw their line-up for Stoke I was wondering what the fuck Rafa was playing at. Playing two defensive midfielders and one striker against a newly promoted side that are fighting relegation is puzzling.
