Almost Stoke, almost. Harsh red imo. Krancjar's volley was SWT tho. Good result the Arse losing a man, blocking the penalty, and scoring two of your own. And excellent effort, Wolves, a draw at Villa Park is a damn good result!

Big ones are tonight tho... All three worth watching, with Chelsea beating Blackburn away the only win anyone with half a clue, which obviously excludes lead paint swilling Scum fans, would feel safe picking.

Are the two recent Europa League winning teams sufficiently amped to beat their opponents? Will a revitalized Liverpool, set on a fourth place and on retaining the crown of most top flight wins, make it a double again against their fiercest rival? Will a jubilant Fulham, filled with vigour after beating the Grand Old Lady of Italian football (those game fixing cunts from Turin) on the same ground just days ago, also put the overpaid and underdeveloped City to the sword?

Also liking the way the table is looking a whole lot more now. DWD for both Villa and City makes things look better even if Spuds have actually got WWW.

Like the look of tomorrow's table even better though. I've used new 4D Canon camera to see through time and record results.

Good results Blackburn, Fulham, and, of course, THE MIGHTY LIVERPOOOOOOOL!!! blower blower blower

What do we reckon tonight, lads? 1 - 3 is my call; Torres 24, Babel 55, Aquilani 60, and Owen 89, just coz he used to be a good cunt. ^_^

Brilliant - Chelsea drew Very Happy Now hopefully United vs. Chelsea ends 0-0 and Arsenal can win a couple of games 4-0 and we'll take it from United on goal difference Very Happy
[quote]
AWful performance from Liverpool if I'm honest, 2 shots and other than Torres' early goal they did 2/10 of f**k all. Rafa's tactics were all wrong given that Gary Neville was on the pitch, a man with all the speed of a glacier and yet who does Rafa put against him? Maxi Rodriguez... When Benayoun and Babel, two players who would have run at him and caused problems, sitting ont he bench until late on. Torres was completely isolated for all bout about 20 seconds and his frustration was plain to see as Liverpool's midfield got completely out played. Which begs the question why stick with two defensive players in there when it's clearly not working as Man United had all the ball? IMO Benayoun or Babel should have started, and Aquilani on at half time given that Lucas wasn't actually winning any ball so there was no point having him on the field. Mascherano lucky not to be sent off, but at the same time he fouled Valencia outside the area only for him to stay on his feet until he got inside the box. Then again if it was only given as a free kick then I think Howard Webb would definitely have sent Mascherano off so Liverpool might have actually got lucky that a penalty was given. I also thought Fletcher was lucky not to walk for his petulant kick on Kuyt after the whistle, but I think Howard Webb had his back to it and didn't see what happened.

Form say this was the result that was most likely, but it was a pretty average game overall, very few clean cut chances, very little attractive football, and none of the aggro that I was hoping for either.
[quote]
The ball floed so much better with an attacking option there it was amazing. Though this is likely a combined result of player ability and tired legs, it wasn't just legs I feel. I really feel that had we started offensively (even just Aqua for Lucas but ideally Babel over Maxi too) we would have seen a different, and more exciting, game Smile
[quote]
Did you see Torres kicking a chunk out of the penalty spot after it was awarded? Was quite a naughty yet subtle play.
[quote]
Hahah sure did; tempers were flaring constanlty bro, was amazed Maschie made it through myself, and thought Neville was most likely to leave on their side Music
[quote]
Argh, Arsenal dropped a couple of points when Birmingham snatched a last minute equaliser. Grr. Chelsea absolutely demolished Aston Villa 7-1. Chelsea vs. United next week should be an awesome game!

Chelsea now the clear favourites, without Rooney United are just aren't dangerous.

Subbing off an uninjured Torres while drawing at St Andrews: time to go Rafa. Your faggot boyfriend Lucas handed over too many balls in the first half and should have been replaced at the half; instead you remove our likeliest scorer only to replace him with a plater who misses three sitters. Fuck you, you just cost us CL place next year and 20million squid. GTFO.

Plastic trophy, it just means you're the 17th best team in Europe. Surely for a team of Liverpool's history having the Europa League trophy in your cabinet would just be a glistening reminder of your failings at Champions League level.

Does the Europa Cup winner get a CL spot?
[quote]
Oh really, you soggy fucking cunt-bubble? Gee, thanks for that, your input is, as usual, stellar!

And btw, super performances of late; it's been a fucking pleasure watching your team roll over without their main man. Just wish he'd been crocked as much as Torres has this season so you felt our pain, though with your performances of late I think you'd be even further down the table than we blower ^_^
[quote]
As usual your retort is of the highest intelectual quality. It is a fact that you're only in the running for that cup because you failed at the main event, there is no hiding that.

As for your performances, are you refering to the nil all draw with Fulham at Anfield, the same Fulham that have barely been able to beat their way out of a paper bag away from home all season long?

The only reason you've enjoyed our fall is because, like every other bitter abu on this planet is that your own team cannot give you anything worth savouring. Funny how I don't get the same sentament from Jono, perhaps because he's busy watching his team do well.

Anyway, I am still interested in the answer to: Does the Europa Cup winner get a CL spot? (I suspect the answer is no)

I'm sure Torres wants to be in the CL next year, I wonder if he cares for whom he appears? (mind you, he must have had some CL free years at Athletico? Jono, looking at you here)

Speaking of European spots. The FA Cup is Chelsea VS Portsmouth. Normally the FA Cup winner would get a Europa League spot but Chelsea have a Champions League spot sewen up and Portsmouth cannot enter Europe due to being in administration.
Does this spot go to another English team based on their league finish now? Can we make Villa and the spuds play off for third in the fa cup and the spot? (silly I know, will just go to the next league team I guess)
[quote]
- Europa Cup winner doesn't get a CL spot, I've always said it should though to make teams take it more seriously.
- Torres has never played for in CL as far as I know, last season was their first time there for 6 years.
- FA spot goes to the next best in the league, just like the League Cup spot. So 5-7 should get Europa spots, maybe 8 as well depending on the UEFA fair play rankings. Although that might change if Liverpool or Fulham win it.
[quote]
Why would I need a reasoned response when all you have done is repeat exactly what I have said but in patronizing terms ripped from the pages of the Sun (which I'm certain you were immensely proud of)? At least when Minty tries that kind of simplistic attack he has the excuse that he isn't a native English speaker. Music

Furthermore, Jono DOES revel in watching your one man team get pasted as much as I do! It's just that his team are doing well at present and you haven't harangued them recently, meaning he doesn't have cause to respond to your retarded-child-with-wiffle-bat sledges. Understand that simple concept?

As for your questions, how about you google? If you managed to mouth-breathe your way to biggie, google should be within your abilities Wink

T, I've never read the Sun in my life. If they bait Liverpool supporters as much as you alledge, I might have to start!

Other news, big up the Spuds!!! Hopefully we can help them into the Champions League by beating the blue moon this weekend. Massive round this weekend, only drawback is I can't see Spurs being consistant enough to produce two performances like that in a row. (well I hear they got outplayed in large patches but Gomez had the game of his life) Hopefully they prove me wrong and take all three points off Chelsea to set up a block buster finish to the season.

- Torres has never played for Atleti in the CL as far as I know, I'm fairly sure that 08/09 was the their first time in the Champions League for 6 years. Atleti are essentially the Spurs of Spain, spectacular underachievers who always look promising but never quite back it up with results.

*I just checked wiki and it was actually 96/97 when they had last been in the CL prior to 08/09.

Arsenal's display last night was nothing short of embarrassing, it was hard enough to believe we were still in with a slim shot for the past few weeks, but realistically we are still a long way behind Man U and Chelsea. Wenger needs to spend, first priority a keeper.

FFS!

"Kiwi football fans wanting to watch the FA Cup final this year will be disappointed.

No New Zealand broadcaster has picked up the rights to the oldest running domestic football competition in the world. TVNZ has screened the final in previous years but due to the approaching FIFA World Cup in June, the network has decided to channel its funds towards that instead.

So when defending champions Chelsea duel with Portsmouth at Wembley midway through May, Kiwi fans will have to wait for the highlights on the news.

This is the first time in 35 years the cup final will not be screened in NZ"

Umm football interest is at an all-time high thanks to the All Whites going to the world cup and we're not going to get to watch the fucking FA Cup final anywhere?

Poor ol' Burnley but how's that Chelsea result! Four goal 'Pool meets seven goal Chelsea next week at ours, though they have no mid-week game. Thankfully it's at home but with a third striker injured we could be in for a pasting :/
Regardless, though, I'd rather we were playing EL than giving the Scum their 19th, so probably good timing ^_^
[quote]
You better lose!!! Not that the players will deliberately throw it but your lot better not produce your best performance of the season.
[quote]
None of our usual strikers left and noone to play left back (Agger was a nightmare today and it was only lucky that Burnley just couldn't score to save their PL place) we'll be hard fucking pressed to win it. Just annoyed about the EL tbh as I can't see us managing to beat Atleti with such a bunch of injuries.

Pfft, if Carragher hadn't twisted his ankle which immediately preceded him going off (him and Rodriguez both out for the last game too apparently, meaning both Sammy and Kenny are gonna have to act as subs next week) he would have easily stopped fatty Frank Razz

[quote]
The spoilers thing is unnecessary Tony, anyone stupid enough to look in a Premier League thread when they are trying to avoid the result of a Premier League game deserves to have it spoilt.

Big ups to Spurs, I'm glad someone else and a new team has made the top 4 for the first time since 2005 - even then it was insignificant as Everton crashed out and Liverpool got a UEFA lifeline when the FA refused to make a decision so it was the same old 4 in the Group Stages. For Spurs it was really now or never as Citeh will spend £200m over the summer and if Liverpool get bought by another set of wealthy Arabs they will be cashed up as well so the chances of Spurs being able to compete with next season without the advantage of CL football money and prestige would have been very slim.

Ahh, it's replays from 9-1 tomorrow so that gives me a chance to do the work I need to and maybe get a nap in too.

Also just found out the Pepe Reina is the most likely contender for Golden Glove again (with Cech the only other who can win it) for the fourth time in five PL seasons. Nice record but also perfectly telling evidence that we just haven't managed to get any kind of attacking force together since ever.
