Welcome.

Firstly please register which team you support. Then post whatever rubbish you felt you needed to share with the group.

My team is Liverpool. And the rubbish I have to share is a little something my mate Jose 'The Special One' Mourinho had to say earlier about his pick for Premiership winner. Music

"...Liverpool are going to get that title."

Seems like everyone's picking us this year ^_^

We won the Community Shield today even without our strikers on show, we should have won it in normal time, until someone knows how to score for us.

Pompy were awful, Fergie needs to sign someone very soon.

oh and those dirty scousers will not win the league for at least another 10 years, this is our year! (again) notice no teams have ever won the Premiership title 3 years in succession.

Will it be next weekend already! Music

Man City are fucked! Their chairman has an arrest warrent out in Thailand, and Britain have a extradition treaty with them, his finances have been frozen by Thai authorities. Can't fcukin wait for the season to start.

Was going to get some tickets to the opener v WBA but have other committments now.

Working on some sponsorship with them this season so may hopefully mean a few free tickets coming my way.

Feeling a big season coming on for Van Persie.

Would be good to see Crouchy in action for Pompey v Chelsea and to get a look at Newcastle v Scum but I think I can wait for the 2pm and 4pm replays on Monday Smile

both look horrible and out of touch.

Blackburn will finish 3rd.

there's a lot of discomfort in that Everton side, something is up, they need to fix their problems soon, to give up 3 goals at home and on opening day is not a good sign for the things to come.

SPurs were pretty ordinary when I saw the highlights, they even rely on an own goal for their consolation goal, sometimes it's not the most players you sign the better.

Arsenal look good, but they need the finishing product, Nasri looks like a good signing for the Gooners

Bring on Man U tomorrow morning Music
[quote]
Everton have bought no new players in so will probably be looking at a mid table finish rather than a UEFA Cup place.

LOL Spurs! Shame, every year they say this is the year they overtake Arsenal (people also forget that in the last five seasons only Liverpool from the 'big four' have missed a CL place), and every year they crash and fucking burn mayabe limp to 5th if they're lucky. It's not that I don't want another club to break the monopoly, it's just Spurs fans crack me up. This year we overtake Arsenal! This year we won't sack our manager!

Oh and it was ex-Spurs striker Mido that scored the winner!

I'm a neutrel english game supporter so i always enjoy every game.

Yeah the problem with Man Utd is that you can never rule them out of anything, they'll always find some way to get back.

I learnt that lesson after reading up on the season when they closed something like a 12 point deficit to clinch the title??

My predictions is that Man U and chelsea for 1st 2nd Arsenal 3rd and Liverpool will be in 5th so leaves the 4th slot open for mid table teams to have a crack at the 4th place. Maybe Westbrom? Froggy

when last years is still fresh in everyones mind Smile

anyway...

Mikael Silvestre has become the first United player to be allowed a release to a main rival club in 34 years.

Signing a 2 year deal with Arsenal.
[quote]
Cool, an injury prone player. Atleast hes 31.
[quote]
seemed like he was surplus to them anyways and wasn't up to standard of what United is today. But i have a feeling he will score a crucial goal against man utd.
[quote]
Silvestre's playing time has been limited long before Patrice Evar's arrival from FC Monaco, as he gets injured too many times.

A great utility player and can play pretty much anywhere at the back, a good signing for the Gooners
[quote]
Shows just how much the Wenger-Ferguson rivalry has cooled, I was surprised when SAF offered a consoling arm to Wenger when Utd beat Arsenal 2-1 last season... But now, could they be almost friendly? It seems the anyone but Chelsea mentality has cooled their rivalry.
[quote]
the rivalry will always be there, remember that 0-0 draw at Old Trafford and there was a big scuffle in the end when Ruud missed the penalty.

Man U's biggest rival is still the scousers
[quote]
mintgamecube said:

That was 2003... Pizzagate was 04, and there haven;t really been any incidents since... Last season SAF offered Wenger a consoling arm on the shoulder after United beat them.
[quote]
I imagine it will irk Liverpool who were unable to sign the transfer listed Heinze because United quite rightly refused to sell to a rival. I perosnally think no club should ever sell a player to a rival club, unless of course they think the transfer fee is makes the sale worthwhile or too good to pass up. I think Spurs are correct in the Berbatov saga, they want to break into the top four, United are in the top four, why the hell should they have to sell them their best striker just because he wants to go? Seems completely counter productive, fair enough if the player genuinely wants to leave then Spurs might have to sell him at something close to his valuation to an interested European club but they should not be forced to sell him to a club they are hoping to overtake at anything less than an over the top price. So if United want him they should have to pay a huge transfer fee to take into account the fact it is not in Spurs best interests to sell him to United.

Don't think ronaldo will be as good as last year.
Watch out for liverpool this season i think they'll be up there giving man utd a tickle or two in the backside.

having that in mind unless man utd's strikers get their act together as they did last season they won't be as good.
[quote]
liverpools only chance of doing well in the prem league this year is...

1)early knock out of champs league
2)early knock out of FA cup
3)getting a new manager, which i believe they will have by christmas.

FACT.
[quote]
1)early knock out of champs league
2)early knock out of FA cup
3)getting a new manager, which i believe they will have by christmas.

1. Judging by their group i think they will be knocked out early.

2. They won't do well in FA cup this rotation policy will mean they will field the reserves in the FA cup clashes

3. agreed, don't think they will let him go they're still on the "he won us the CL, got us to the final couple times blah blah. The domestic league should be first priority IMO
[quote]
Those would help (except 3, Rafa is the bizzo) but I'm really just waiting for Robbie to get his act together. His position is vital and he's done nothing with it so far but if he can I remain confident.
[quote]
Also dunno about rotation policy, he was pretty stable at the end of last season and has been relatively so so far save for Olympics and Euro replacements so I'm hoping we won't see shit like we did early last season.
[quote]
United have released Saha who has signed a 2 year deal with Everton.
[quote]
The thing is who would replace Rafa? Plus the dressing room loves him so I imagine if they sacked him they may face an exodus of top players. In Torres they have the best striker in Europe, in Gerrard they have the best captain in England, I think it's their defense that will let them down though. Carragher is a good centre back but nothing more, Agger can be great, butthe reserves are a bit thin... Plus there fullbacks don't excite me at all.

Having said that Man Utd did the double with a centre back playing at right back whi barely left his own half last season. Chelsea's fullbacks are however fucking bad boy this seaosn, as much as I hate Ashley Cole big Phil has given him the freedom he needs to excel because he is better going forward than hanging back, and Boswinga is very impressive, plus they have Belletti (my favourite right back ever - first ever goal for Barca was the winner in CL final) on the bench.
[quote]
Oh and LOL

Zenit St Petersburg 2 Man Utd 1

Laughing Paul Scholes thinks he's Maradona Laughing
[quote]
Kinda agree re our backs, I'm hoping Dossena gets more game time as he was quite impressive in pre-season and deserves a spot on a regular basis from what we've seen so far; he has that same roving attacking mentality that Riise had.
But I must say that I've seen Carragher do plenty of good work from mid-field previously though I wouldn't be surprised to see him slowing it down a bit. He's been needed a couple of times to cover close up ball where the other lads have made mistakes and he will probably need to keep being there in the short term 'til our D gets tighter.
[quote]
And you can't say that Scholes' shot wasn't fucking good though; top corner, tidy as you please! Very Happy
