there's a lot of discomfort in that Everton side, something is up, they need to fix their problems soon, to give up 3 goals at home and on opening day is not a good sign for the things to come.

SPurs were pretty ordinary when I saw the highlights, they even rely on an own goal for their consolation goal, sometimes it's not the most players you sign the better.

Arsenal look good, but they need the finishing product, Nasri looks like a good signing for the Gooners

I imagine it will irk Liverpool who were unable to sign the transfer listed Heinze because United quite rightly refused to sell to a rival. I perosnally think no club should ever sell a player to a rival club, unless of course they think the transfer fee is makes the sale worthwhile or too good to pass up. I think Spurs are correct in the Berbatov saga, they want to break into the top four, United are in the top four, why the hell should they have to sell them their best striker just because he wants to go? Seems completely counter productive, fair enough if the player genuinely wants to leave then Spurs might have to sell him at something close to his valuation to an interested European club but they should not be forced to sell him to a club they are hoping to overtake at anything less than an over the top price. So if United want him they should have to pay a huge transfer fee to take into account the fact it is not in Spurs best interests to sell him to United.

The thing is who would replace Rafa? Plus the dressing room loves him so I imagine if they sacked him they may face an exodus of top players. In Torres they have the best striker in Europe, in Gerrard they have the best captain in England, I think it's their defense that will let them down though. Carragher is a good centre back but nothing more, Agger can be great, butthe reserves are a bit thin... Plus there fullbacks don't excite me at all.

Having said that Man Utd did the double with a centre back playing at right back whi barely left his own half last season. Chelsea's fullbacks are however fucking bad boy this seaosn, as much as I hate Ashley Cole big Phil has given him the freedom he needs to excel because he is better going forward than hanging back, and Boswinga is very impressive, plus they have Belletti (my favourite right back ever - first ever goal for Barca was the winner in CL final) on the bench.

Kinda agree re our backs, I'm hoping Dossena gets more game time as he was quite impressive in pre-season and deserves a spot on a regular basis from what we've seen so far; he has that same roving attacking mentality that Riise had.
But I must say that I've seen Carragher do plenty of good work from mid-field previously though I wouldn't be surprised to see him slowing it down a bit. He's been needed a couple of times to cover close up ball where the other lads have made mistakes and he will probably need to keep being there in the short term 'til our D gets tighter.

And you can't say that Scholes' shot wasn't fucking good though; top corner, tidy as you please!
