HELLO EVERYONE!

Here's some INFO & GIG GUIDE for Catalyst in the coming weeks and months and beyond. This includes the return to being a LIVE VENUE and a DJ Venue.

GIG WISE:
HALLOWEEN WEEKEND LOOKS SET TO BE A BIG WEEKEND!!
LIVE BANDS & DJ's with live percussion, OCT 27 & 28th

The 1st Weekend in NOVEMBER brings the start of the new Electo/house/breaks night - ELECTROSOUL on the FRIDAY 3 NOV... SATURDAY 4 NOV, Drum n Bass make a return to Catalyst for the 1st of our Monthly nights after a long hiatus...plus much more... SEE GIG GUIDE BELOW!

The LAST weekend in October and from November onwards, really see's the inception of our new branded nights and direction of Catalyst. Each night will have its own drink specials and deals, etc.. more fitting to its genre and culture. This comes after some great suggestions and feedback from all of you on here and more. We sincerly hope you all like where we are heading again and hope to see some of you and meet you at your favourite nights!

ELECTROSOUL & ELECTROSOULELUXXE
MUSIC POLICY: (Electro/Breaks/House)
With a common element of FUNK and SOUL, Electrosoul will aim to start off the nights on the more funk soul side and progress to more electro and heavyier breakbeats and 4 to the floor beats and Basslines.

ELECTROSOUL will be 2 Fridays a month with some of hamiltons finest upcoming and established DJ's.

ELECTROSOULELUXXE
1 Saturday a month we are bringing the ELECTRO PARTY VIBES to the Saturday night! 'ELECTROSOULELUXXE' will be a night hosting DJ's/Producers from around NZ! WATCH THIS SPACE!!

DRUM N BASS RETURNS!!
The 1st Saturday of each month we are bringing back those BIG BASSLINES AND FASTER BREAK-BEATS! THE NEW DnB night is yet to be brand named... but already has AKL DJ's booked, a 12" Release Party for 2 of Hamilton's finest DnB Producer/DJ's and plenty of local upcoming talent to boot.
The RETURN of DnB begins - Saturday - NOV 4th...


REGGAE/DUB/SKA - Bands & DJs
Once a Month we gona celebrate the rich Roots n Dub Culture NZ has. With local luminaries such as,
The Midnights,Cornerstone Roots, Katchafire, Cosmic Ska Child, CPT. NEMO as well as Soundsplash Roots & Reggae Festival being held in Raglan, etc etc. We felt it time to promote our local Reggae/DUB/ROOTS/SKA culture and music!

UPLIFITNG - HI NRG - TRANCE/PSY TRANCE
Once a month you will also find a night dedicated to the UPLIFTING - HI NRG SOUNDS and also a lil PSY TRANCE / TRANCE chucked in for good measure. Expect some of H-Towns Finest uplifting Dj's and regular guests from around NZ. WATCH THIS SPACE! SATUDAY NOV 18th sees the 1st outing of this new night... more info soon.


HARD HOUSE - BACK 2 BASICS
On the Last Saturday of each month you will also find a night dedicated to the proper dark 'n' dirty, hard as nails, HARD HOUSE. Not for the faint hearted. This monthly night will host Residents and Local DJ's OLD & NEW as well as NZ's Top HardHouse Dj's and Party Brands from around the country. Watch this SPACE! The 1st night will be Friday NOV 24. From DEC. this night will occur on the last Saturday of every month from then on. More info soon...

But what we at Catalyst feel is, it's time to bring the live culture back to what once was one of Hamiltons top live venues aka J.B.C.! Thats right... We are bringing the bands back!

THURSDAYS - LIVE BANDS
Over the SUMMER months and beyond Catalyst will be hosting some of Hamilton's Top Local and Upcoming Bands as well as National bands and NAtional Tours and SINGLE / E.P. / ALBUM RELEASES - LOCAL AND NATIONAL.
Thursday will be our band nights. Further more Catalyst will also be putting 1 FRIDAY and 1 Saturday earmarked for Live Bands and Acts of many live genres such as PUNK, SKA, REGGAE, MEATAL, ROCK, ALTERNATIVE, FUNK & SOUL, DUB and more..

Toilets - for gods sake please make these nicer for the ladies! They are just awful, and put someone in charge of making sure they stay clean and tidy throughout the night!

It was good to see people there till the sun came up on sunday morning!

Theres nothing else to do in hamilton after 3am except go home and sleep, so you all might as well head down to catalyst and keep partying!

And don't forget that it doesn't just open at 3!!

and the big parties don't just have to be in Aucks!

on the topic of renovations,that stair set smack bang in the middle of the room is really obstructive and unsightly,im sure its really unnesecarry anyways?im sure the space could be used for something more appealing to the eye?

1 - Toliets are going to be done ova the summer months will update you all more on the progress of that. Also Thanks j7 for the comment about it being cleaned regularly through the night.

2 - The stais oin the middle of catalyst are an Emergency exit. For those who dont know too much about building codes and fire codes. Because catalyst is in a basement it requres that emergency exit. Not to mention by geting rid of that exit would cut our legal capcity by almost half opr more. The Capacity for ay building is based on the width of the doors and combined doors and exits. Unfortunatley a very expesinv option and poor business move for us to consider at this point.

So all of you know the NEW Drum n Bass Nights will be
'Momentum'. Many Guests from around NZ are lined up so.. look forward to some action soon.

Also the Reggae/Dub/Roots/Dubstep night will be taking place on the 2nd Friday of every month.
Catalyst in conjuction with a couple other venues in Raglan and Hamilton are joiing forces to provide a consistant outlet fotr the roots/reggae/dub/culture. SO almots weekly events are happening in that particular genre.
