Final Fu (Queen St) - Saturday 1st December

Fu Bar and FU have long been the home of quality, eclectic, electronic sounds in Auckland's inner city, providing a haven for those that look for more than the standard, mainstream dance floor offerings. Over the course of the last 8 years, with the support of both discerning party revellers and music aficionados, we have been able to build up a thriving community around the cornerstone of a trusted venue.

We have enjoyed our time here on Auckland's main drag immensely, but it's now time to move on and create something new and fresh in a larger location, allowing us to transcend the physical limitations of a basement on Queen Street. (All you need to know for now, is keep December the 7th free for an all new good time!).

Thank you all, for helping to make Fu's tenure here such a success - we'd love to see you all on our final night at the old spot, to help us throw Fu & Fu Bar in their current form, the send off they deserve. Come and remember some of your own favourite nights out from the past few years - and there's certainly plenty to choose from with over 150 international artists and DJs brought over to play, not to mention all the premium local parties which have made Fu their home as well. We have invited down a selection of our vast family of DJs and music makers to ensure it's done in style, so make sure you're there with us for the FINAL FU.

Save the last dance for us!

Fu bar djs: DJCXL, PARI, ORPHAN, ALIAS, SUBSTANCE, PAGE 3, TIMMY SCHUMACHER, MISTER KING and CHAYE D

Fu djs: RIDDLE, POTS, EMMA G, JESS HARTLEY, CERN, PHANTOM, THE ROLL CREW, FLIRT WITH DIRT, CONSEQUENCE, GRIND, NATO, PACKAGE, LOBO, AVID, FUTURE ONE, ORAWAN, MAKKY, FRASER S and ABSOLUTE VALUE

Doors open 10pm - $15 before 12 and $20 after so get in early!!

What next? See you soon at the new Fu Bar (4 Wolfe St) and Auckland's newest venue Zen (17 Albert St) Grand Opening for both Fri 7th December!!!More details very soon.

Ahh so many good times at the fu Smile

What are people's favourite techno gigs they went to there? Mine would have to be Michael Mayer by far, though I recall enjoying Derrick May down there too. And Aril Brikha.

Locally the welcome to the machines/enter the dragon parties were always a highlight Smile

Enter the Machines? Welcome to the Dragon?
Very Happy

Will miss Fu a great deal, always had that underground vibe - made listening to underground music a pleasure... somehow, most other clubs just felt a little to contrived.

there were many but the short list would be (its a big short list):
micheal mayer, space djz, aril brikha, jeff mills and derrick may..

domesticaly i enjoyed 'girls love bass' cos there were more girls.

Embarassed reaky realy is a word

not so much in the last few years but Fu has been like a local for me. Agree with what you said Matt about the vibe, and that general seediness which I love tho that reduced somewhat with the no smoking laws.
But yeh amazing gig as have listed already , tho no ones mentioned any of the absolutely schtonking DnB gigs.
So yeh end or an era
Drats that I'm scheduled on call for this final gig - may still make it tho.

Very true.
Here's hoping there will be more techno at the new venue Smile

My favourite dnb party down there was probably the first time dj marky played. Ridiculous party.

Man oh man, I think my whole electronic music history played out down at FU at one time or another.

Highlights would definitely be all the parties I was involved with personally, DIRTY, Enter The Dragon, Automatique, Jack the Box. We sure had some times down there!!

Other highlights: Mr C, fire alarm and all!, Michael Mayer, The Beatfreaks nights, DJ Rectangle and way more.

Sure the new venue will be just as rad. Go the FU! Mr. Green

Heard this, should be wicked.........

hey.......were either of you the first to ever play a record down @ FU? If so...can you remember what the first record was? If so...that should totally be the last as well Shocked

have had plenty good times at fu can pretty much blame it for a music obsession.... will miss those wooden floors, stairs and exposed pipes for sure... some of the highlights for me would be the snafu parties, mr c, and tom clark at jack the box, phatstacks parties were always dope too.. and as of late the hybrid parties with the likes of Full Code have been pretty fuking cool too... newer better things?

Chaye and i used to do 3-4 nights a week for the first few years, so no idea what those early records were, though i remember the two opening nights guests were Bevan Keys and Sam Hill... times change huh Wink
