So,

Who are you with, roughly how much are you paying, and are you happy with them?

I'm with Circle through a broker, was quoted nearly $1100 for this year's premium on a car only worth $4500 (PS13 Qs), and me with 3 years no-claims and a 100% clean record thus far, so went for third party at around $450. Main factor in the high price is apparently that I park it on the road. Since third party covers the same stuff full insurance does with regard to that, I'd say the $600 difference means that's a crock of shit.

I've had no interaction with Circle but I'm not happy with the broker -Hawkes Bay Insurance- as I don't think they're getting me a particularly good deal (shafted I think, actually), and they've been particularly slack with not sending letters, etc.

The policy is up in September, by which time I will hopefully have a new car anyway, so I think I'll look elsewhere then.

Make that $370 for third party fire and theft...

My Skyline is currently waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay outta my price range for insurance. I was with Allianz through a broker when I did have it till I modified it. Insurance companies tend to laugh at 22 year olds with a car with more power than a V8 Touring car Laughing

I'll have to look into National Auto Club or something like that once its back on the road.

my Excess was around $1000, bout $1500 a year or something like that when I did have it. They were sweet when I was with them

97 S14a Qs, paying $1800 p/a through Inbroke. Insured for $12k, with a handful of basic mods. 1 year NCB, clean driving record apart from a couple of $120ish speeding tickets.

Happy with them? Well, yeah, I guess. The true test will be if I have an accident and have to make a claim.

His car is worth nearly 3 times more than mine and I would have been paying nearly $1100 this year...

It's not ridiculous, it's just what they charge unless you get super lucky.

That's my experience anyway.

It's ridiculous in my view, not in the big picture though. Shopping around with a broker if definately the way to go.

Before I really modded my Skyline I was insured through Allianz through a broker. I was paying about that much except my Skyline is a 1996 2.5litre 6 cylinder turbo..
