The Austrian bunker Fritzl guy

This story is plain weird... but, having read a couple of times that his wife didn't know anything about it - in 25 years or so... It made me think: yeah?

For a start, a story which came out last week said he was traveling through Thailand (or HK?) with a friend at some stage and bought some lingerie at a market.

His wife was not on the trip... So I'm assuming she may have been back at home (and possibly taking food down to the basement?)

I think she knew about it and was just so beaten down emotionally/mentally she never dared tel anyone.

I read that he bought enough food for his prisoners to last the duration of his holidays and it is posited that he had an accomplice at some stage.

Also we read today that his own mother was a very domineering and brutal disciplinarian who beat him daily blah blah blah

And he did this to his wife too no doubt..

just a fucked up situation all round

It is one of the most disturbing crimes I have ever heard of.

the most disturbing part for me was reading the reports about how the children behaved, walking around on all fours rather than standing and communicating by grunting at each other
