With Australia being a possible target for terror attacks do you think this will play a role in the RWC this year ?

Last night on 3 news there was a story on Australian Security regarding terrorism, apparantly Australian intelligence agencies have good reason to beleive that Al Queda are in Australia and have been for some time, given John Howards stance on issues involving the US do you beleive that there is reason for people in Australia to be worried ?

the Black Caps withdrew from Kenya as it is deemed a hostile area and has been the target of terrorism in recent times.
You cant realy compare this with Australia as Kenya is a third world country and one would expect Australia to have pretty stringent security policies but could this affect the world cup ?

With a war iminent, would this tournament be a target while there was Australian involvment in the Middle East ?

Just take the usual precautions, unless they have some specific information of a threat. I doubt Al Queda's motive is to 'get them back' for Howards stance, their hatred for the west goes a lot deeper than that.

We are hated for what we are, not what we do.

I guess it depends on how well set up the terrorist group is, if they have a reasonable infrastructure then i guess it would be naive to rule it out but dependant on the war developments.

Plenty of targets to pick from too i guess with the poms, oz, us.

The reason they didn't target the world cup was because osama is a big supporter of Le Arse and wanted to see france win the cup. Apparently he hadn't though they might get ousted in the first round and was too late to get anything organised once they lost.
