So I'm on call and had work to do last night. But cant connect to anything. but I can get a response from pinging servers that I know the ip of but nslookup wont work.
So its not really the net thats down - its just dns. So I ring my helpdesk at work and get them to give me some various dns server ip addresses and change my dns to one of those.
sorted - internet back for me.
