i think i should clarify, it reads a bit negative i guess.
when i say sweden is dead i dont mean its techno scene or sound, i just mean its growth and potential to surprise. its sound peaked when it became known as the swedish techno sound. it held for that time the techno torch until the next counry peaked with its techno output. this does not mean the techno there is any less cool, it just means 'it is what it is'. like the detroit sound, very distinct and very cool but not likely to grow to another level. both very improtant to global techno and always likely to be a credit to production. but not likely to recieve the sole enthesiastic attention of the global techno market looking forever for the next 'new' sound.
so they are religated to the bench of steady solid techno producing nations along with england, usa, germany, scandinavia, japan and almost all of europe. italy and spain will soon join the rest when the next big thing explodes.
i see south america as the next focus and possibly other parts of asia.
who knows maybe one day (optimistic) new zealand will make a play, not ever australia though.
