Taylor or McCullum?

Pretty starved for cricket right now :/

Read a decent article on the weekend that said the decision is due this week, and that McCullum has closed the gap on Taylor considerably. I think it should be McCullum personally, partly because I think it *may* bring the best out of him. Plus is is slightly older than Ross so there is still time for Ross to captain. The article also mentioned B Mac had the support of most of the dressing room, including Vettori

Also...was looking at the SL and England series and in particular England battign line up. Is it fair to say that South Africans make the best batsmen in the world right now? Edging out India? Consider this line up of premier batsmen

Don't think SMITH belongs in there. Not at the moment anyway... Plus you can't say SA 'makes' them when they're playing for other countries. Stupid argument.

Anyway I think McCullum should be the man. These next couple of years will define his career I think. If he's made captain and actually scores the runs that *HE* believes he's capable of (I'm not sure I agree that his is capable personally), then he's likely to finish our best ever keeper-bat. If not, he'll be remembered as a bloke with loads of talent that was great at popcorn cricket but never quite became the real deal.

"make" is the wrong word, but anyway I was just scratching for cricket things to write about Perhaps a better discussion is just how sick could SA's batting line up be if they werent currently losing a good % of their talent to the English

I think I came up with the idea when watching Trott and thinking that the way he organises himself so efficiently is very Kallis-esk

Much of a muchness really. We've had good captains that couldn't save us from embarrassing defeats for the past 10 years. I'm rather ambivalent to the whole thing to be quite honest.

I'm glad its not McCullum thats leading us from here on in. Was never a captain imo, he looked out of place and didn't really know what he was doing when he was captaining the KK's. And well his up and down batting I would rather him try and concentrate on scoring all those runs he thinks he can still do.

Smith is lucky to even be in the SA team right now with his form. You will find that Trott and Kallsi came through the same Cape cricket system so a lot of what they learned growing up will be from the same txt books.

Aus is in SA in August for 3 Tests and some ODI's, should be very interesting to see how this new team goes.

SA are in NZ this summer too. :>
