Tattoo!

Just curious does anyone from welli still go 2 Tattoo? doesnt seem to be pumping much now is it coz Phoenix, sub9, studio9 has takin over the sceen!

I wondered that myself being an old skool raver from down that way - checked out Tatou recently and it's definately slowed down. Where abouts is Phoenix & sub9 so i can check these out next time I'm down that way btw am a big fan of the vespa lounge but then at my age I gotta slow down a bit wif som funky house

Phoenix is on Dixon Street (I think thats the street name), its on the same drag from Courtney Place. Near a Club called "The Club" - dont go to this club ok, you might not come out alive.

Studio 9 is on Edward Street, sort of like an alley way, quite narrow, and slightly uphill. Near to the cuba mall area, opposite the Mc Donalds there.

yea Phoenix is next to "The Club" or Subway its upstairs, nah ive been there heaps of times as aye, just as long as ya dont dont fuck wit any1 there you'l be sweet as *tip* every1 knows everone there and run.LOL Yup tru on the way into sub9 you'l alao see studio9 there kinda straight next to each other so dats pretty kewl.

Not sure if anyone went to the Tatou in the weekend, however it was going off last Sunday morning.
They had the downstairs cranking like they did back in the day....pool tables were dismantled and put aside for room as the nice banging hardhouse and Nu NRG trance came back....
The upstairs was a little quieter this time round, however their was a large green lazer that swept across the main upstairs area (a little like the innerphase lazer we have become familiar with at Fevah events)....
Perhaps Tatou is going back to its roots?

Bliss - not sure if its the old judder bar (way too twisted at the time to remember details!) but it was down a side street off Courtney Place so could be. Sorry I am just no help today

I'm pretty slack and have never been to Tattoo. I wish someone had told me it was still cranking after Farenhite. They finished up at just after 6am and I wasn't ready to stop.

Has anyone been to 'The Exchange' that new venue - suposed to be near Tattoo somewhere.

Vespa? Isn't it that place down Courtney nearish to Opera? If so, eurghh, I was in there once and there were a whole lot of dodgy guys trying to pick up young underage chicks. Not exactly my style - at all.

Pool tables at Tatou doesn't sound so hot. :-/ It'd be cool if it was going back to its roots though, I had heard it was really pumpin there 'in the day'.

I've spent much of my short dance scene career at Studio and Sub9 / 9bar, but was at Fahrenhit last weke and loved Phoenix as a venue. Definitely intend to return there.

Yeah Tatou definitely rocked 'back in the day'. They used to have the essence parties there but I think they kinda gave up on dance because people weren't drinking as much.

Studio Nine used to be Escape back in the olden days. I think Sub nine is the old Edward Street Cafe/Ruby Ruby (Am I right??)

In all the flyers they said it was a refurnished warehouse or something I think. And the doors into it certainly are warehousey. But you could be right anyway.

Think they turned Judder Bar into Vespa for the same reason transtemporal - too much dancin and drug taking and not enough people spending money over the bar and a few hassels from the boys in blue.

Remember they did a raid there a few years ago and a few well known dealers of the day crapping themselves.

What about Vertigo and Paradiso Bar?? Does Matterhorn still have some nice house during the week??

Matterhorn 'although pretty low-key and loungy' - has some of Wellingtons best house DJ's playing during the week. The include 'Johnathon Crayford - MU & Vee and others..' definatly worth going to watch...

Ah. The old Judder bar. *shiver* I had a mixed bag of nights at Judder Bar and you're right about the drugs darkside. One night we were going hard when this dude I (kinda) knew offered us free pills. It was bloody crazy. I later found out he was a pretty big drug dealer so in retrospect, it makes sense.

Paridiso is definatly the place to go if you don't want the Harder sound. It's owned by Dj Ryan and the place bumps. Consistantly.

A new all hours place opend up tonight call "jet" aparently its quite good. I think its kinda the same idea as vespa... mainly for hospo's. I'm going tommorrow after work so I'll report back.

Last weekend it was Tatou's birthday, that'll be why the downstairs was open. I hope they keep it that way tho, coz it's much better layout/feel than the main bar! I like to see the djs while they pump it for us, and there's plenty of dancefloor down there.

yea i go there too when other clubs shut but its just not the same as da old days, use to be da bomb club! i reakon they should hold a big event there to get them statred again liek back inthe days.

What sorta music do they play?

HardHouse, Trance, Techno, Pregressive. the play music harder then Fevah.
